At the Herzl Center today we met with a group of young leaders from Habonim Dror movement who arrived in Israel from around the world as part of the "Kaleidoscope 2026" leadership seminar, especially for the election period, to experience Israel in its complexity at a time when it is deciding its future.
As part of the seminar, which deals with Israeli reality and the connection between Diaspora Jewry and Israel through meetings with local movements and leadership, the group visited the Nova festival site and Nir Oz, where they met with their peers from the Hashomer Hatzair alumni movement. Today they arrived at the Herzl Center to grapple with the foundational questions of the Zionist mission and to sharpen their roles as leaders in their communities abroad.
In an open conversation with Department Head Dror Morag, we discussed the place of Zionism during these complex times in Israel and the connection of Diaspora Jewry to it. These young leaders who carry the torch of action and practical Zionism (hagshama), remind us that the character of the state depends on our shared determination to fight for it.
We are proud to stand with them, strengthen the bridges between communities in Israel and the Diaspora, and continue together along the path to realizing a vision of justice and Tikkun Olam.
