Founded in memory David Gordon Z"L, the Sparks of David Program was created to support lone soldier and lone bnot sherut. The program offers workshops in creative arts and expression to help these young people deal with the challenges of living in an new country, while completing their National & Army service.

Our Story

Founded in memory of David Gordon Z"L, a lone soldier who passed during Operation Tzuk Eitan.

David was a lover of the arts, inspiring thousands through his writings and musings on his blog, Sparks of David. We wanted to channel that love of the arts David had to create something new, and something we felt was missing.

The Sparks of David Program is a program offering creative art and movement workshops. The program is open to lone soldiers & lone bnot sherut. Having been a Lone Soldier himself, David knew the importance of creative expression in adjusting to living in a country by himself.

Our goal is to provide workshops that nourish the body, mind, and soul. Art is an expression of what we sometimes can’t say otherwise and can be extremely beneficial for our lone soldiers & lone bnot sherut in dealing with stress and adjusting to life on their own, many for the first time ever.
