The Team Bnei Akiva Kedma run is always a highlight of the year — but this year it hits differently. Life in Israel now is fraught with uncertainty and at so many points over the course of the last few weeks we were unsure whether the Run would happen for our team.
The war with Iran delayed the race, the majority of our team are gap year students who left Israel for Pesach with unclear plans as to their return, and the ceasefire was supposed to end right before the rescheduled run date.
Nonetheless, we refused to give up and kept on hoping and praying that this year’s Team Bnei Akiva-Kedma run in Ashkelon was going to happen. This is more than a run. As Avi Moshiashvili, the Ashkelon Run organizer, said today, זה לא רק מירוץ, זה ניצחון הרוח.
Tomorrow is more than just a run — it is the victory of spirit. Despite the many difficulties that we face as a people, we keep on fighting for our future in this land. Our international group of runners is part of this “victory of spirit” — the vast majority of our runners from abroad have returned and are excited to support Kedma And Bnei Akiva’s work, to run in memory of fallen Golani soldier Netanel Moshiashvili, and to honor our Miluim families. These runners are the spirit and bright future of the Jewish people. עם ישראל חי!!!
It’s not too late to donate to Team Bnei Akiva Kedma and help us reach our goal so that we can continue working towards a strong Israel. Go to link in bio.
