لم تنتظر اللواء رنا الخولي أن يُفتح المجال أمام النساء في قطاع يُعد تقليدياً حكراً على الرجال، بل ساهمت في فتح الطريق.
بخبرة تمتد لأكثر من 30 عاماً في مجالي الأمن وتعزيز المرأة ، دعمت مشاركة النساء، وأسهمت في تدريب مئات المنتسبات، وتعزيز حضور النساء المؤسسي وأدوارهن القيادية.

Major General Rana Al-Khouli did not wait for space to be made for women in a traditionally male-dominated sector — she helped create it.
With more than 30 years of experience in security and empowerment, she has supported women’s participation, trained female personnel, and helped strengthen women’s institutional presence and leadership.
“I didn’t wait for a place… I created the path.”

في بيرزيت، تُعرف نجوى خوري بقدرتها على جمع الناس وخلق مساحات آمنة للحوار والدعم والمشاركة.
من خلال مبادرات مجتمعية، عملت نجوى مع النساء، والشباب، وكبار السن، وساهمت في تطوير نادي كبار السن الذي أصبح يستقبل بصورة منتظمة أكثر من خمسين مسناً ومسنة.
بالنسبة لنجوى، لا تُقاس القيادة بالظهور، بل بالثقة، والكرامة، والعمل اليومي الذي يفتح الأبواب أمام الآخرين.
تقول نجوى: “سأواصل ما استطعت؛ أنصت قبل أن أتكلم، وأشرك الآخرين قبل أن أقرر، وأبني قبل أن أطلب التقدير.”

In Birzeit, Najwa Khoury is known for bringing people together.
Through community-based initiatives, she has worked with women, young people and older persons to create spaces where people feel safe, respected and heard. One of the initiatives closest to her heart is an Older Persons’ Club that now regularly welcomes more than 50 older women and men.
For Najwa, leadership is not about visibility. It is about trust, dignity, and opening doors for others.
“I will continue as long as I can,” she says. “I will listen before I speak, involve others before I decide, and build before I ask to be recognized.”
