The United States experienced the World Trade Center attack of 9/11 2001 as a huge crisis that was publicized all over the world and reverberated in its cruelty
The exception.
These were a series of su***de bombings that took place in the United States, and are considered to date the largest and deadliest terrorist attacks in the history of mankind.
as well as the largest attack on American soil.
These attacks led the United States and other countries to the Afghan War (2001-2014) and the global war on Islamic terrorism.
On September 11 2001, 2,977 people were directly killed.
In Israel, nearly 1,000 civilians have been killed so far. The vast majority of them are Israelis as of this moment. I'm not talking about over 100 abductees who were kidnapped to Gaza.
Israel is 1/36 the size of the United States.
Take 1,000 dead, multiply by 36 and you get the relative equivalent of 36,000 dead, which is 12 times bigger than the 9/11 tragic events.
And we shall call this out to the world – and maybe then what happened to us in Israel last night will permeate everyone.
It's not "like Yom Kippur" because the world doesn't understand what Yom Kippur is.
There is no benefit in talking about and write and interview about fights Israel had in the 70s or 60s in a world where the biggest media consumers are Millennials and Gen Zs.
The words are short to describe the feeling of cavity that gripped me and certainly everyone who watched the shocking photos and videos from the events of the last day.
These b@s murdered, r***d, looted and did not spare the elderly, children, infants and women.
This is a war that has just begun, and we must be prepared for the future
On all fronts.
But it is our duty - to improve the narrative and how information is to be shared.
Truth be told:
The events of October 7, 2023 in Israel are Israel’s - 9/11. And it's 12 times bigger than that.
And that makes last night's events the greatest terrorist event humanity has ever known.
