Zion Orphanage

The oldest active Jewish orphanage, serving Jerusalem's children since 1899.

The Orphanage is located on an acre of land in the heart of Jerusalem, serves some 80 children, ages 7-22, along with an additional 80 children as part of a yeshiva high school. While some of the 80 children are orphans, many come from dysfunctional, abusive or poverty-stricken homes placed in the orphanage by the Israeli Social Welfare Agency. Some are immigrant children from throughout the world whose parents were unable to care for them.
