Kesher Yehudi

Kesher Yehudi Kesher Yehudi is a social movement born in response to the rift tearing apart Israeli society. Founded and directed by Mrs. Partner with Kesher Yehudi.

The organization’s vision is to unify Israeli society by creating real and lasting friendships between different types of Jews in Israel. For the last 10 years, Kesher Yehudi (KY) has been doing the impossible – bringing together Israel’s secular and religious Jews with astonishing results. Tzili Schneider, KY is well-known and actively involved in 27 pre-induction military academies across Israel

, connecting more than 1500 young men and women from diverse backgrounds every year to their Jewish heritage and to one another. In addition, through its Chavruta Program, KY connects participants from all over the country, matching them merely by age, location and field of interest. Together, they study subjects related to Jewish identity, Jewish wisdom and the Jewish holidays. Every month, over 100 new secular Israelis of all ages are paired with a Torah study partner. In fact, over 26,500 young religious and secular individuals have already enthusiastically joined the program. Because there’s no stronger glue than the Torah itself and no better light to ignite their souls. With your help, we can foster unity and shape the next generation of Jewish leaders.

One of our Charedi volunteers sent a message to her Kesher Yehudi WhatsApp group.
"Shabbat Shalom btw I'm by my parents this week."

One minute later, Hadar, her secular chavruta partner, replied:
"What's the address. I'll be there in 30."

No invitation. No planning. No "are you sure it's okay."
Just: I want to be near you for Shabbos.

That's what a year of learning Torah together does to two girls who grew up in completely different worlds.

What happens when 200 Israelis who would probably never meet each other spend an entire Shabbos together?

They stop being labels.

And start becoming friends.

This past week in Jerusalem, families from across Israel came together for a Kesher Yehudi Shabbaton filled with meaningful conversations, shared meals, new friendships, and the kind of connection that’s becoming harder and harder to find.

The results speak for themselves.

Our Jerusalem Shabbaton is officially underway.

Dozens of families from across Israel are spending Shabbos together this weekend. For some, it’s a familiar experience. For others, it’s their very first time.

Earlier today, one of our volunteers learned that her chavrusa’s son is celebrating his Bar Mitzvah this week. She went out and bought him a cake so he could celebrate with everyone at the Shabbaton.

Sometimes it’s the little moments that say the most.

One of the strangest things happening at Kesher Yehudi is watching people walk into a chavrusa thinking they’re coming to “give” something… and then realizing a few months later they’ve completely changed themselves in the process. The secular guy who started keeping a little more Shabbos. The charedi guy who now understands Israelis he once only saw from a distance. Somewhere between the coffee, the learning, the arguments and the random late-night conversations, something real starts forming that’s very hard to explain unless you’ve experienced it yourself.

Before Simchas Torah, these kids would never have walked into a beis medrash.

Now they’re showing up.

Kesher Yehudi’s Mechina is putting young secular Israelis across the table from Charedi chavrusas. They’re asking the questions no one let them ask. Opening seforim for the first time. Discovering what was always theirs.

This isn’t kiruv in the old sense. It’s Am Yisrael remembering itself.

The walls are down. The hunger is real. The future of Klal Yisrael is being built one chavrusa at a time.
