Kibbutz life hits different on Kadima🍊

From picking fruit and getting their hands dirty working the land, to improving our Hebrew in Ulpan, Kadima is all about experiencing Israel, not just learning about it.

Kadima is World Bnei Akiva’s Israel gap-year program for young adults from around the world, combining Torah, community, volunteering, work experience, Hebrew and immersive Israeli life. Through hands-on experiences and meaningful learning, participants build independence, strengthen their connection to Israel and grow as individuals.

Meet Libby Peston, from London, UK, an 18-year-old participant on Torani 2026-7, a World Bnei Akiva Hachshara Program.

“Hi! I’m Libby Peston from London, I’m 18 and I went to JFS! I chose to come to Harova alongside Torani because I really wanted to stay connected to Bnei Akiva UK, explore Israel in a different light and build lifelong friendships with my peers.

One of the highlights of the year so far has definitely been the pre-Sukkot Torani tiyul. We explored the north of Israel over three days, hiking, climbing and kayaking. It was truly amazing not only to see Eretz Yisrael from a whole new perspective, but also to see how unbelievably quickly the entire group became so connected.

We spent our evenings tisching and really getting to know each other, and it was such a meaningful few days. I can’t wait for the Shabbatonim and tiyulim to come!”

Torani is a 9-month World Bnei Akiva gap-year program in Israel, combining time in Yeshiva or Midrasha with an immersive Bnei Akiva experience. Participants develop their Jewish identity, leadership skills and connection to Israel through learning, tiyulim, Shabbatonim, seminars, community experiences and living as part of a close-knit group.

Meet Benji Goldstein, 18, from Johannesburg, South Africa, a participant on MTA 2026, a World Bnei Akiva Hachshara Program.

“My name is Benji Goldstein, I’m 18 years old, and I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. I went to Yeshiva College, so becoming part of Bnei Akiva was a no-brainer. MTA was something I heard about a lot from my madrichim and MTA alumni at school, so joining the program felt like a natural next step.

Some of my highlights from this year have been meeting all the Australians and their weird accents (especially the way they say ‘pizza’), leading a second Seder for the small group of MTA participants who kept two days of Yom Tov, having the most insane yeshiva rabbeim, going to Poland, getting a pet snail, working on a kibbutz, and shaving off my hair!

But most importantly, I’ve loved seeing and learning about the different streams of Judaism. It’s made me realise how different we can be, while also gaining a deeper understanding that, at the end of the day, we’re all just Jews.

That’s probably the biggest takeaway I’ve gotten from this year: no matter our differences, we’re all brothers, and we should treat each other that way.”

MTA is World Bnei Akiva’s Israel gap year program for participants from Australia and South Africa. Combining intensive Torah learning in leading yeshivot and midrashot with travel, volunteering, leadership development and immersive experiences across Israel, MTA gives participants the opportunity to grow in their Jewish identity while experiencing Torat Eretz Yisrael firsthand. Throughout the year, participants take part in tiyulim, Shabbatonim, seminars, kibbutz experiences, volunteering and a transformative journey to Poland — all within the supportive Bnei Akiva community.

One chapter closes, and the next one begins!!

Over the past few months, Limmud participants have spent time diving deeper into their Judaism, learning, reflecting, and experiencing the Yamim Noraim in Jerusalem in their Yeshiva & Midrasha period. The boys learned at Aish, while the girls spent their time at Midreshet Nishmat. This period gave everyone the opportunity to explore their Jewish identity, ask questions, celebrate the Chagim, and grow through meaningful Torah learning.

And now… they’re off to Poland for the next chapter of Jewish discovery.

Limmud is World Bnei Akiva’s immersive Israel gap year program for young adults from the Southern Hemisphere, combining Torah learning, volunteering, MDA, Israeli culture, travel, community, and personal and Jewish growth throughout the year.

Meet Noah Ruderman, from Livingston, New Jersey, a participant on Kadima 2026-27, a World Bnei Akiva Hachshara Program.

“Hi! My name is Noah Ruderman, I’m 18 years old and from Livingston, New Jersey.

I graduated from Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School and chose Kadima because I not only wanted to spend a year in Israel, but integrate into the community, meet new people, experience Israeli life, and get a chance to gain work experience.

While I don’t have a specific highlight, I love how at a moments notice, one person can ask if anyone wants to get food or go to the mall, and suddenly its a 7 person group going out for lunch and to go shopping. It really creates a very welcoming and inclusive enviornment.”

Kadima is a Jewish gap year program in Israel for young Jewish adults from around the world, combining Torah learning, volunteering, Israeli culture, travel, community, personal growth, and meaningful experiences throughout the country. As a World Bnei Akiva Hachshara program, Kadima helps participants build a deeper connection to Israel, Judaism, and Am Yisrael while developing skills and experiences that stay with them long after their year ends.

Starting the year strong with Torani💪🇮🇱

Torani kicked off 5787 with an unforgettable opening tiyul in the North! From rafting and hiking through some of Israel’s incredible landscapes to learning together and taking on new challenges, the group had the chance to step outside their comfort zones, build connections, and start creating the community that will carry them through the year.

Here’s to a year of Torah, adventure, growth, friendship, and making the most of every moment in Israel!!

Building the next generation of leaders💪

A couple of weeks ago, MTA & Limmud came together at Nes Harim for a Hadracha Seminar filled with learning, growth, and plenty of challenges. From exploring what it means to be a leader, to giving their own TED Talks and hearing from Bnei Akiva leaders themselevs, our participants had the chance to learn, lead, and discover new strengths along the way.

Mechina Olamit 5787 is off to an epic start! 🏃

From hiking and taking on an Amazing Race challenge to activities with Kol Ami, Mechina Olamit has been making the most of these past few weeks! In between Torah learning, volunteering, and preparing for the chagim, there’s been no shortage of adventure, new experiences, and time spent growing together.
