3 brown sea turtles were released on Arches Beach in Ashdod, after a long period of rehabilitation at the National Sea Turtle Rescue Center of the Nature and Parks Authority in Michmoret.
The release was carried out in front of dozens of residents, families and children who had come to the beach and applauded with emotion as Eliad, Adi and Yoram returned to the sea after long months of care and rehabilitation.
💙🐢 Eliad, one of the large females, was found in early 2026 on the beach of Be'er Sheva, weak and covered with barnacles and algae. After prolonged treatment, her weight increased from 49 kg to 65 kg and she was released healthy and strong.
💙🐢 Adi was found exhausted outside the port of Ashdod in October 2025. During the rehabilitation, she strengthened herself and helped save another sea turtle by donating blood. She arrived with a weight of 26 kg and was released at 34 kg.
💙🐢 Yoram was found on Nitzanim Beach, caught in fishing lines and hooks and suffering serious injuries. She managed to recover and returned to the sea.
3 a moving story of strength and resilience.
The Authority reminds the public that if a sea turtle that is injured or caught in plastic or fishing lines is found, do not try to free it alone or return it to the sea, but contact the Nature and Parks Authority's call centre at 3639*

Manta rays in Eilat 🙌
They are majestic animals that inspire awe and a deep sense of connection in anyone who meets them.

La nuit du Seder le peuple juif commémore sa libération de l'esclavage, et la signification de la fête de la liberté est particulièrement poignante aujourd'hui comme hier.
Israël et les juifs sont bafoués, mis par certains au ban des nations, accusés des pires atrocités ... mais nous sommes debout.
Le peuple juif ne renonce jamais à l'espoir. C'est notre essence même.
C'est notre troisième seder en guerre. Beaucoup d'entre nous sont sur le front, mais il y a à l'arrière des grands pères, des fils, des frères, des amis qui vont conduire la cérémonie.
Plus que jamais nous nous battons pour la liberté de notre peuple.
Je dédie ce post à tous mes frères d'armes, à mon fils Ilan, à mes gendres, Or et Moshe, à ma fille Shirel et surtout à mon épouse, à ma belle fille Shani et à mes filles Ruthy et Yael. Mes petits-enfants vont chanter et l'année prochaine nous serons victorieux et ensemble.
Souhaitons que nos frères prononcent en paix la phrase traditionnelle  : « L'an prochain à Jérusalem.»
Elle résonne comme un pari sur l'avenir, le respect de la mémoire et l'affirmation de notre identité.

1️⃣ **A real ray of sunshine** 🌞
This bright yellow fish, about 20 cm long, is striped with thin dark lines and wears a lovely blue mask around its eyes.

2️⃣ **Reef lover** 🪸
It lives on coral reefs and plateaus down to 20 meters deep, where it finds both food and shelter.

3️⃣ **A big family** 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
It belongs to the family *Chaetodontidae*, the butterflyfishes — nearly a hundred colorful species!

4️⃣ **“Silk teeth” origins** 🦷
Its scientific name comes from Greek: *khaite* (silk/hair) + *odous* (tooth) — tiny, fine silk-like teeth.

5️⃣ **A precision mouth** 🎯
Small but extendable, its mouth is lined with brush-shaped teeth that help it pick at coral polyps and micro-invertebrates.

6️⃣ **Baby armor** 🛡️
During its larval stage, its head and part of its body are covered in small bony plates — a handy shield against predators.

29 minutes and 3 seconds underwater!
Vitomir Maricic, a Croatian diving and freediving instructor, has entered the Guinness Book of World Records with an astonishing static apnea performance.
"When I dive, I completely disconnect; it's as if I'm no longer there."
This achievement is the result of an extraordinary 40-year-old athlete, and should not be attempted in your bathtub!
He pushed the human limits of what's possible, submerged horizontally in a swimming pool after pre-breathing pure oxygen for 10 minutes.
The pain, the spasms, the mental suffering, but ultimately a record that few people thought possible.
I am impressed by the performance and what it says about the capabilities of the human body.
Having grown up by the sea in Rijeka, he was only four years old when he discovered the joy of swimming underwater for hours.
This made him a witness to the "horrible" changes the Adriatic Sea has undergone since his childhood. It's what turned him into a fervent advocate for ocean conservation.
"If we don't protect biodiversity and if we don't raise awareness about it (...) we face a very bleak future... And not in fifty or a hundred years, but in the next ten years."

When a whale dies… it's not the end. It's the beginning.
A whale's body doesn't float forever. Eventually, it sinks—slowly, silently—to the ocean floor.
This is called a "whale fall."
And there, in the depths, something amazing happens.

The body of a single whale becomes a haven of life.
For decades, it nourishes hundreds of sea creatures: sharks, crabs, small scavengers, and unique life forms that exist nowhere else.
From one death, an entire ecosystem is born.
From death springs life. Silent. Abundant. Sacred.

But there's more.
Throughout their lives, whales absorb carbon from the atmosphere.
And when they die and sink, that carbon descends with them to the ocean floor, where it remains trapped for centuries. Even in death, they help cool a warming planet.
Even in silence, they protect us.

And as long as they live... they sing.
Not with words, but with sounds so powerful they can travel thousands of kilometers under the sea.
Mothers sing to their young.
Some groups remember those they've lost.
Others wait for those left behind.
Their songs aren't just communication.
They're connections.

A blue whale's heart is the size of a small car.
And when it dives into the abyss...
