🌟 Beyond the Badge: The Human Side of the Eagle Scout Study

The 2026 Eagle Scout Study examined more than leadership and service. It also explored well-being and purpose.

Compared with adults who were not involved in Scouting, Eagle Scouts reported:

📈 Higher daily levels of gratitude

📈 A stronger sense of purpose

📉 Lower levels of loneliness

📉 Reduced feelings of fear and isolation

While every Scout's journey is unique, the study suggests that experiences such as camping, service, leadership opportunities, mentorship, and belonging may contribute to positive outcomes that extend into adulthood.

For today's Scouts, parents, and leaders, it's a powerful reminder that Scouting is about more than earning badges—it's about helping young people grow into capable, caring, and engaged adults.
