This is a new article written in English by our colleague Ghadeer Abdo, which you can read via the link in our bio. In it, she revisits the life and work of Palestinian writer Asma Toubi, exploring both her political activism as a pioneer in the Palestinian women’s movement and her role as an inspiring literary figure who helped shape Palestinian culture during the British Mandate period and made lasting contributions to it over many years. She was the first Palestinian woman to publish a book during the Mandate era: The Death of the Tsar, a literary work translated from Russian and published in 1925.
This article offers an inspiring look at an extraordinary life and literary legacy. We hope you find it an enriching and thought-provoking read.
