We have created a residence where they are taken care of by our community and our friends around the world. A home in the full sense of the word; a home which will offer physical, emotional and
familial support. A villa for 12 soldiers and a counselor or young married couple
completely stocked from “A to Z” with furniture, appliances, air conditioning, linens,
kitchenware and patio furniture and f
ood and anything else that the soldiers might need
or want. Each soldier will be paired with an adoptive family to help surround him with a
warm and caring environment. Our extended community of Givat Sharret in Beit Shemesh is comprised of a number of
heterogeneous neighborhoods with a high concentration of English speaking Shabbat
observant families. It is the ideal community for a home for English speaking lone
soldiers, since we are a community of olim, with our own children serving in the army;
and we know what needs to be done to take care of young men so far from home.In partnership with The Lone Soldier Center
מדובר בבית במלוא מובן המילה – בית בו תוצע תמיכה פיזית ורגשית, ובו תשרור אווירה משפחתית. הבית יוקם בשיתוף עם המרכז לחיילים בודדים ע"ש מייקל לוין ז"ל.
החזון הוא להקים וילה עם מקום לעשרה חיילים + מדריך או זוג צעיר. הבית יהיה מלא בכל הציוד הנדרש – ריהוט, מכשירי חשמל ביתיים, מזגן, מצעים, כלי מטבח, ריהוט גן, אוכל, וכל דבר אחר אותו ירצו או יצטרכו החיילים.
כל חייל יוצמד למשפחה מאמצת אשר תעטוף אותו בחום, אהבה, ואשר תהווה סביבה אכפתית ודואגת.
הקהילה הרחבה באזור גבעת שרת בבית שמש כוללת מספר שכונות הטרוגניות עם ריכוז גבוהה של משפחות דתיות, דוברות אנגלית.
מדובר בקהילה אידיאלית בשביל חיילים בודדים דוברי אנגלית מאחר והקהילות כוללות מספר רב של עולים חדשים עם ילדים משלהם המשרתים בצה"ל, ואלו יודעים באילו דברים יש לטפל, וכיצד יש לדאוג לחיילים צעירים הנמצאים רחוק מבתיהם וממשפחותיהם.
