💔 From Devastation to Determination – The Story of Aleh
This morning, Channel 13 aired an emotional interview with Rabbi Yehuda Marmorstein, founder and CEO of aleh – Israel’s leading network for the rehabilitation and care of children and adults with severe disabilities.
Over 40 years ago, after witnessing heartbreaking neglect of children with the most complex medical needs, Rabbi Marmorstein made a promise: every child has the right to live, to be loved, and to be cared for – regardless of religion, background, or nationality. From that moment, aleh became a lifeline for hundreds of babies, children, and young adults who require 24/7 medical and emotional care.
But during the recent 12-Day War with Iran, tragedy struck. A direct missile hit one of aleh’s most advanced facilities – a beautiful, state-of-the-art campus that had only opened five years ago, built with an investment of nearly 140 million shekels. Miraculously, no children were inside at the time. The night before, the team had planned to transfer children there from unprotected housing – a decision that, unknowingly, saved their lives.
Where others saw destruction, Rabbi Marmorstein saw a beginning. Within 48 hours, the parking lot for 40 cars was transformed into a fully functioning rehabilitation daycare center for almost 100 babies – complete with electricity, fresh air, therapeutic equipment, and walls decorated with the smiling faces of children.
The interview was a reminder of the miracles, courage, and love that define aleh’s work. These children cannot walk, speak, or even breathe without assistance – yet through specialized care, custom-built wheelchairs, and innovative communication devices, many have found ways to express themselves, to connect, and to live with dignity.
Now, aleh needs our help. The rebuilding will take time, resources, and the partnership of people who believe, as Rabbi Marmorstein does, that no child was born to suffer – every child was born to live.
🙏 Please watch, share, and be part of this mission. Together, we can turn tragedy into hope. ❤️
