Since 1988 MASLAN has been serving the Negev region and the southern half of Israel as the only r**e crisis center. MASLAN’s mission is to combat the widespread sexual and domestic violence that permeates Israeli society, providing an outlet and a resource for every victim while simultaneously working as an agent for social change. MASLAN strives to address the root causes of social violence by pa
rtnering with community leaders from among the diverse populations of the Negev to educate and raise public awareness about sexual and domestic violence. By fostering the cooperation of the various communities while empowering people at the individual level MASLAN endeavors to improve the lives of all of the residents in southern Israel including immigrants (Russian, Ethiopian), Jewish religious (Orthodox, traditional), Bedouins, Arabs (Muslim and Christian), LGBT etc. All of these sectors are served without discrimination with regard to age, race, religion, or sexual orientation. Through the provision of preventive education, practical and emotional support for survivors of violence, the provision of guidance and accompaniment throughout the entire legal process, as well as via assistance throughout the recovery process MASLAN has become a pillar of strength for women and girls in the southern portion of Israel.
