The Tamar Golan Africa Centre at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

המרכז הוקם על ידי ד"ר תמר גולן ז"ל בשנת 2009 במטרה לשפר ולקדם את תחום לימודי אפריקה בישראל לאחר הירידה הדרמטית שחלה בתחום בעשורים האחרונים.
יעדו העיקרי של המרכז הוא לקדם ולפתח מחקר רב תחומי באפריקה.
במקביל, המרכז מעודד את הסטודנטים והסגל באוניברסיטה להתקדם מעבר לנקודת מבט אקדמית גרידא, ולעסוק באתגרים הפוליטיים, חברתיים ותרבותיים שעומדים בפני היבשת.
פעילות המרכז במשך השנה כוללת תמיכה וייזום מחקרי

ם, שיתופי פעולה אקדמיים עם אוניברסיטאות ביבשת, כנסים, אירועים תרבותיים ופרויקטים חברתיים והתנדבותיים.

The Africa Centre was established in 2009 by the late Dr. Tamar Golan at Ben-Gurion University (BGU) of the Negev in order to remedy the dramatic decline of African Studies in Israel which began in the 1990’s. The primary objective of the Centre is to promote and develop multidisciplinary research on Africa. At the same time, we encourage our BGU students (known for their social activism) to move beyond a purely academic perspective and to engage in the political, social and cultural challenges facing the continent. The Africa Centre draws upon BGU’s academic and social strengths through research, partnerships, volunteering and activism in Israel and in Africa. The Africa Centre seeks to establish and develop deep and lasting ties between BGU researchers and their counterparts in Africa, based on the belief that interpersonal exchange greatly enriches the experiences and capabilities of all concerned. We’re so proud of our graduate, Noa Ginosar (on the left), a BGU Politics and Government המחלקה לפוליטיקה וממשל אוניברסיטת בן גוריון בנגב - העמוד הרשמי alumna who worked at both the Simone Veil Research Centre - מרכז סימון וייל ללימודי אירופה בן גוריון and the מרכז אפריקה ע"ש תמר גולן- The Tamar Golan Africa Centre and is now helping manage the negotiations between Israel and Lebanon alongside Israel’s ambassador to the United States.
