On Thursday (2.11) at 18:00 there will be an *online yoga class in English*🪷
The class will be held by our Hanis and is *for our international students community*
(although everyone is invited)
The class is for all levels and ages and doesn’t require any previous knowledge.
In order to join the online class you need to sign in, in our positive app if you have a user.
If you don’t have a user, you can join our WhatsApp group and we’ll send the link the night before there. The class is free.

Hello everyone! For all those experiencing Negev climate for the first time, this is not normal climate. Israel, along with Europe, is currently facing a blistering heat wave named "Kleon". Temperatures in Beer Sheva this week will reach 38/39 degrees.

The Ministry of Health of Israel recommends the general public, the elderly population and people with chronic diseases in particular, to please be careful of the climate.

Reminders:
- Avoid exposure to heat and the sun as much as possible.
- Avoid outside unnecessary physical exertion.
- In general and especially when outside, drink enough water.
- Remain in air-conditioned places as much as possible.
- Do not leave pets or children in cars unattended or without AC.
- Park your cars preferably under shaded areas.
- When outside, please wear hats and regularly apply sunscreen.

This would be a good time to study hard and excel in your research. Good luck!

על פי דיווח של השירות המטאורולוגי, בימים הקרובים צפויה הכבדה בעומס החום באזורים רבים.

אנו קוראים לציבור הרחב, לאוכלוסיית הקשישים ולחולים במחלות כרוניות בפרט, להקפיד להימנע ככל האפשר מחשיפה לחום ולשמש, ממאמץ גופני שאינו הכרחי, להקפיד לשתות מים ולהימצא ככל האפשר במקומות ממוזגים.

שימו לב ❤️ בעומס חום תיתכן אפשרות לפתח מכת חום, המתרחשת כאשר הגוף לא מסוגל לקרר את עצמו בסביבה החמה. הסיכון לפתח מכת חום גבוה יותר בגיל המבוגר, בגילים 0-4, בחולים במחלות לב וכלי דם, באנשים הסובלים מהשמנת יתר, בחולים במחלות כרוניות אחרות, במטופלים בתרופות מסוימות, ובעת מחלה חריפה או התייבשות.

🚨במקרה של הופעת סימנים כמו טמפרטורת גוף גבוהה מ-39.5 מעלות צלזיוס, עור אדום, חם ויבש (ללא הזעה), דופק מהיר, כאב ראש חזק (ו/או הרגשה של "דפיקות הלב" בראש), סחרחורת, בחילה, בלבול וירידה בהכרה – יש להתקשר למוקד חירום ולקבל טיפול באופן מידי.
עד להגעת העזרה יש להישאר באזור קריר ומוצל ולדאוג לקירור הגוף.
חשוב ביותר: במכת חום - אסור לתת לנפגע לשתות❗️ הטיפול בנוזלים יעשה דרך הווריד, על ידי הצוות הרפואי.

For those who arrive at Beer Sheva and are not aware, here some of the many efforts of Beer Sheva's municipal urban patrol department to maintain the personal safety of the residents in the public space in Beer Sheva:

1. There is an emergency hotline *2337. This is a security center of the urban patrol, which is connected to 3,200 cameras placed throughout the city. Their response is very fast and they handle a variety of issues. If you were harassed on the street, if you are afraid to walk alone at night, if you saw a person doing obscene acts on the street, if there was an incident of violence in the public space... anything like that. Call 100 (the police), of course, but if you haven't received a satisfactory answer from the Israel Police, then there is this hotline. Save this number *2337 in you contacts list, add it to your favorites and call it "Emergency Help BS"

2. The neighborhood watch - a group of 500 volunteers who patrol at night, they answer to the *2337 emergency calls and help increase presence and prominence in Beer Sheva's neighborhoods.

3. The motorcycle unit of the municipal police - they are the real deal, they arrive at call even before the police sometimes.

4. A security patrol that will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to increase public order and increase the sense of security among the residents in the public and private space.

The Student Union works with the municipal urban patrol department and police to keep finding more ways to help BGU students feel more secure in Beer Sheva.
