Salam Centre For Peace (S.C.P) aims to promote peace among nations, starting in the Middle East. The centre will provide and develop many projects that aim to bring together students from different backgrounds with different perspectives to let them get to know each other and build relations with them. We believe that peace begins with love, and we are providing opportunities for students to meet
and create long-lasting friendships in peaceful environments such as international educational conferences and more. The founder of the centre, Salam Kedan, has been arranging and chaperoning delegations to international conferences since 2013. The students who joined these delegations built relations with students from all around the world. They now have friends from countries they would have never been able to visit due to political reasons such as Qatar, Pakistan, Indonesia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and more. Now both sides know about each other, and both sides were very surprised to learn about the other. By raising awareness this way, the centre connects students from all around the world to share their stories, become friends and try to figure out solutions that fit and satisfy all because these students are going to be tomorrow's leaders. We look forward to creating more international relations, send our students and welcome students from all around the world to discuss issues and create friendships. We will provide the youth with travel opportunities to international conferences as well as arrange and host international conferences in the Middle East. We believe that through such peaceful projects, we will bring people from all different backgrounds together. There is a big need for such centre because the Arab youth in the Middle East is torn between religious fundamentalism and an ambivalent reality composed of modern and traditional values. By travelling and meeting people from all around the world, students become more aware and open and they bring that back to their community leading to creating a positive change. We will also provide projects in Arabic since there aren’t many leadership projects available or after school activities for the Arab youth, that’s why they turn to smoking, violence, drugs and more. One of our goals is to change that.
