📍In Ramle, we remember two men who loved Christ when it seemed there was nothing left to do.

🕯️ Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for Jesus’ body and offered his own tomb.
🌿 Nicodemus brought myrrh and aloes to prepare the body with respect and love.

From the Church of Saints Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea, we remember those who cared for Jesus’ body during the quietest hour of the Gospel. They taught us to see the love that remains when all seems lost.

📍En Ramle se recuerda a dos hombres que amaron a Cristo cuando parecía que ya no quedaba nada por hacer.

🕯️ José de Arimatea pidió a Pilato el cuerpo de Jesús y ofreció su sepulcro.
🌿 Nicodemo llevó mirra y áloe para prepararlo con respeto y amor.

Desde la Iglesia de San Nicodemo y San José de Arimatea, recordamos a quienes cuidaron el cuerpo de Jesús en la hora más silenciosa del Evangelio. Ellos nos enseñaron a ver el amor que permanece cuando todo parece perdido.

🏛️ In ’ time, Jerusalem was a great capital city undergoing transformation.

Herod the Great had begun a major renovation of the Holy City, with new walls, streets, cisterns, and pools, filling the city with life—a vitality that was also enhanced by the splendor of the Temple, the Roman presence, pilgrimages, and the great celebrations.

Understanding what Jerusalem was like back then helps us better contextualize the : the streets Jesus walked, the city he loved, the atmosphere he encountered, and the place where he spent his final days before the Cross✝️

Today we celebrate the Assumption of the , the woman and mother who:

✨ Said “yes”
🤍 Carried Jesus in her womb
🕊️ Walked alongside Him to the Cross
👑 And was taken up into heaven, body and soul.

Even in heaven, Mary never ceases to be a Mother. She continues to accompany her children on their journey, pointing us toward Christ and reminding us that our lives, too, are called to the fullness of God.

“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” Luke 1:46–47

Hoy celebramos la Asunción de la , la mujer y madre que:

✨ Dijo “sí”
🤍 Llevó a Jesús en su vientre
🕊️ Caminó junto a Él hasta la Cruz
👑 Y fue llevada al cielo en cuerpo y alma.

Aún en el cielo, María no deja de ser Madre. Sigue acompañando el camino de sus hijos, señalándonos hacia Cristo y recordándonos que nuestra vida también está llamada a la plenitud de Dios.

🏛️ In the that Jesus knew, one of the most imposing civil buildings was Herod’s palace, which served as the residence of the Roman prefects when they traveled to Jerusalem from Caesarea Maritima.

Flavius Josephus described it as an enormously luxurious structure with banquet halls, guest rooms, green courtyards, ponds, canals, and monumental porticoes, flanked by three large towers. Remains of one of these towers can still be seen in today’s Tower of David—one of the traces that help us imagine the grandeur of first-century Jerusalem. 📍

Visiting these sites allows us to better understand the historical context in which lived.

🏛️ En la que conoció Jesús uno de los edificios civiles más imponentes era el palacio de Herodes, que servía como residencia de los prefectos romanos cuando subían a Jerusalén desde Cesarea Marítima.

Flavio Josefo lo describió como una construcción de enorme lujo con salas de banquetes, habitaciones para huéspedes, patios verdes, estanques, canales y pórticos monumentales y junto a él se alzaban tres grandes torres. De una de ellas aún se conservan restos en la actual Torre de David, una de las huellas que ayudan a imaginar la grandeza de aquella Jerusalén del siglo I. 📍

Conocer estos lugares nos permite comprender mejor el contexto histórico en el que se desarrolló la vida de Jesús.
