Thank you Cork's Red FM for giving us a chance to speak today..

Today we got to speak to Mike Mulcahy about our concerns and fears for the children of Youghal and east Cork area. To highlight the importance of bringing an appropriate Post Primary School for children with additional needs..

We, Bridging the Gap Youghal continue to work very hard behind the scenes to make this a reality..

We have a very busy few weeks ahead and will keep you all updated..

Thank you Noel McCarthy TD for your continued support. Your contribution here was very true and it is very hard to see how there are so few spaces at post primary in our town. We look forward to meeting with Michael Moynihan TD and discussing how we can make the dislocation of special needs children in their community a thing of the past.

Thank you to Cork County Council for passing the motion yesterday to seek further engagement from Minister Michael Moynihan TD and Minister Hildegarde Naughton T.D. with our group. We have waited since October for a follow up meeting with the Minister and we were delighted to see such support from the councillors for Cllr Mary Linehan-Foley - Independent, East Cork motion which had already unanimously passed at local level.
Thank you to County Mayor Mary Linehan Foley Cllr Rory Cocking Cllr. Patrick Mulcahy Cllr Ann Marie Ahern and all other councillors who spoke on our behalf and for the cross party support the motion garnered

We were delighted to meet with Mr. Denis Leamy and Mr. Pat McKelvey from Cork ETB last night along with Cllr. Patrick Mulcahy. We had a very constructive and open meeting. It was great to meet them and engage with them about our research and proposal. Thanks to Karen and the staff at the Red Store for the refreshments.

Thank you to EchoLive.ie for this article about our campaign. We have been pushing for more appropriate post primary places for autistic students in our area for 18 months now. Students who would not be able to access a place in a hub setting and need the supports they have at primary school level.

We last met Michael Moynihan TD seven months ago and were promised a meeting shortly after, once certain figures came in. We seem to still be waiting for those same figures to come in.

We are coming to the end of another school year, another year in an area with one post primary school, fifteen feeder schools and children being bussed up to two hours each way on the most dangerous stretch of road in the country. This needs to change.
We need this meeting now!!!
