Could you be an LGBT Champion for Older People? LGBT Ireland has confirmed the first training dates for 2026 of the LGBT Champions Programme.

About the programme
LGBT Ireland’s Online LGBT Champions Training Programme supports health and social care professionals to provide safer, more inclusive care for LGBTQI+ older people.
Older LGBTQI+ people are more likely to live alone, experience isolation, and fear discrimination in care settings. Many worry about being forced “back into the closet” when seeking support. The Champions Programme offers practical, evidence-informed training and resources to help services respond with dignity, confidence, and respect and incudes joining a network of professionals who have also engaged in the raining.

This is a valuable training for colleagues, teams, or networks, particularly those working with older people in health and social care.

Upcoming online training dates (1–5pm):
Wednesday 25 February 2026
Thursday 26 March 2026
Wednesday 29 April 2026
Wednesday 27 May 2026
