SMART VILLAGE COMMUNITY SURVEY
Courtown Community Council will shortly commence a survey to gather the views of all sections of the community on the future investment and development of Courtown, Riverchapel and surrounding areas. CCC will use all of the information gathered to help develop the Courtown/Riverhapel Smart Village Strategy.
According to the European Commission, “Smart Villages are rural areas and communities which build on their existing strengths and assets as well as on developing new opportunities ”, where “traditional and new networks and services are enhanced by means of digital, telecommunications, technologies, innovation and the better use of knowledge”.
Members of Courtown Community Council and Riverchapel COmmunity Complex engaged in training which was facilitated by the LEADER programme 2014–2020 to learn about the Smart Village Strategy and to support the development of a strategy for our area. It is vital that all members of the community have the opportunity to feed into the development of this Strategy as we hope it will serve as the blueprint for future investment and development of our local area. Some of the topics that we hope to address through the Smart Village Plan include:

•Service provision gaps;
•Key investment projects;
•Transport
•Environmental projects and challenges
•Enterprise opportunities and challenges.

The public consultation will launch in the coming weeks and we hope that you can take a few minutes to share your views with us on the future of Courtown and Riverchapel.

Please join us in standing with Ukraine in their time of crisis. We are linking in with locally organised collections of essential huminatarian supplies.

There will be a TROLLEY COLLECTION in Brooks from today until Friday. Please donate what you can from the list supplied below.

All FIRST AID donations (pain relief, bandages, antiseptic etc.) will be collected from Brooks by the Gorey.PL - Polish Cultural Association who are organising a First Aid deployment to support the 280,000 Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

All NON PERISHABLE FOOD & TOILETRIES donations will be brought by Brooks to Oliver's Car Services Centre on Saturday. Oliver's is liaising with Gycu transport company in Dublin who is carrying care packages free of charge to the 67,000 Ukrainian refugees in Romania.

THANK YOU for your support

Been awhile since I've posted, busy home, and I'm currently in college studying for a degree as well as working part time. So not as much free time, Mark and I got out today, as Baile Na Tra was getting ridiculously bad... 4 bags and we didn't get the whole road done 🙈 some one is dumping their bags of alcohol bottles near the end of the road 🙄 which, come on BOTTLE BANK! Also the amount of cans both alcoholic and soft drinks, is really getting to be a issue...
The CCTV across from Jimmy's does pick up the end of the road, so please just bring your bottles/ cans to recycling in Courtown or home!
