€𝟏𝟑,𝟕𝟗𝟗.𝟑𝟏

That is the incredible amount raised by Darkness Into Light Rosslare 2026.

This figure is the final amount donated to Pieta after essential event costs of €531.99 (including printing, T-shirts, hoodies, candles, sundries and delivery) were covered.

To every single person who donated, registered, volunteered, sponsored or walked with us this year thank you. This belongs to every one of you.

As we celebrate this incredible milestone, I also want to share that, after three unforgettable years, the time has come for me to step down as organiser of Darkness Into Light Rosslare.

When I first started this journey in 2024, I could never have imagined the support, kindness and community spirit that would grow around this event. Together over the last three years, we have now raised more than €40,000 for Pieta at Darkness Into Light Rosslare 💛

Darkness Into Light Rosslare became so much more than just an event. It became a morning where people came together to support one another, remember loved ones, share hope and show the true strength of our community. Seeing hundreds of people walk together before sunrise each year is something I will never forget.

As life moves in different directions, I know the time is right for me to pass this responsibility on. It hasn’t been an easy decision, but I know the event has a bright future because of the incredible people who make it what it is.

To every volunteer, steward, sponsor, local business, emergency service, committee member and every person who gave their time over the last three years—thank you. This event would never have become what it is without you.

To everyone who registered, donated and walked with us, thank you for believing in this event and helping create something truly special for our community while supporting Pieta’s life-saving work.

Finally, thank you to Pieta for trusting me to organise Darkness Into Light Rosslare over the past three years. It has been an honour.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for every step, every sunrise and every act of kindness.

Firstly, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported our Darkness Into Light Raffle this year. Every ticket purchased and every bit of support helped make the raffle a wonderful success, and we’re so grateful for the incredible support from our community. 💛

A special thank you also goes to the amazing local businesses who generously donated prizes. Your kindness and support are truly appreciated and helped make the raffle possible.

We’d also like to apologise for the delay in sharing our winners publicly—life has been a little busy lately! Thank you for your patience.

Congratulations once again to all of our winners! 🥳 All winners were contacted shortly after the draw, and all prizes were delivered within two weeks.

Thank you all again for supporting Darkness Into Light 2026. Your generosity helps make a real difference, and we couldn’t do it without you. 💛✨

A huge thank you to Official Our Lady's Island Gaa club for their incredibly generous donation of €1,000 and to Ballycogley Players for their wonderful donation of €500 in support of Darkness Into Light Rosslare.

Your kindness, generosity, and community spirit will make a real difference and help support the vital services provided by Pieta. We are truly grateful for your incredible support.

A heartfelt thank you also to everyone involved in organising, fundraising, volunteering, and supporting these efforts. It is inspiring to see our community come together to support such an important cause.

Together, we are helping to bring hope, support, and awareness to those who need it most.

💛 Best of Luck to All Students 💛📚

From all of us at Darkness Into Light Rosslare, we want to send our heartfelt best wishes to every Junior Cert and Leaving Cert student stepping into exams over the coming days.

We know how much time, effort, stress, and sacrifice has gone into getting to this point. Late nights, early mornings, moments of doubt — and still you kept going. That matters. 💛

As you go into your exams, please remember this: you are more than a grade on a paper. All you can do is your very best, and that is enough. Truly.

Be kind to yourselves during this time. Take a breath when you need it, rest when you can, eat properly, and lean on the people around you. You are not alone in this.

Whatever happens, you should be proud of how far you’ve come. We are proud of you. 💛

A huge thank you to the amazing Sarah Deevy and Arya Hennessy 💛🎶

For the last three years, these two talented young girls have been such a special part of Darkness Into Light Rosslare. Their beautiful voices have added so much to the morning and created such an emotional atmosphere as the sun came up each year.

Not only are they incredibly talented, but they have also been so kind and supportive of the event from the very beginning. We are so lucky to have had them be part of Darkness Into Light Rosslare over the last three years.

Thank you both for sharing your talent with us every year, you really helped make the mornings so special 🌅💛

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week 💛

Mental health does not care about your age, your job, your background or what people think your life looks like from the outside. Struggles can affect anyone, the friend who always seems happy, the person who never talks about their feelings, the parent trying to stay strong, the young person feeling lost, or the older person carrying silent pain for years.

So many people are fighting battles they never speak about. Some are exhausted from pretending they are okay. Some are carrying heartbreak, anxiety, loneliness or thoughts they feel nobody would understand. And sometimes, the hardest thing in the world is simply asking for help.

But please hear this, you do not have to go through it alone. No matter your age or your situation, your life matters. You matter. There is always someone willing to listen, even on the days when it feels impossible to see hope.

Through Darkness Into Light Rosslare, we have seen how powerful community, conversation and support can be. Behind every walk are real people, real stories and families who have been impacted by mental health struggles and su***de. It is a reminder that kindness and reaching out can change and even save lives.

If you are struggling right now, please talk to someone. A friend, a family member, a neighbour, a teacher, a colleague, anyone. And if you feel like you have nobody, Pieta is there for you, day or night.
