Current Status..... Please Note and share 🤞

Wexford Credit Union 5K Night Run is scheduled for tomorrow Thursday 5th February at 7.30pm. The weather situation is currently being monitored and Event Management and Controller are liaising with all appropriate authorities on the matter. Wexford County Council are pro-active and have put their plan in place of the inflated barrier on the Quay, which is brilliant. The High Tide is expected approximately 9.30am Thursday morning and if this breaks the barrier a decision will be made. The safety and pleasure of all our Participants is uppermost in our minds as we continue through the next 12 hours. If a decision needs to be made of any changes we will notify via our Facebook Book Page and as much as possible through Radio and Journal outlets. Here's hoping the Quay won't be affected as expected. Stay safe all. ❤️

🚧 Traffic & Road Closure Notice – Wexford Night Run 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ ADVANCE NOTICE
📅 Thursday 5th February 2026
⏰ From approx. 7.30pm

Gardaí are advising motorists of a number of temporary road closures and traffic diversions in Wexford town on Thursday evening to facilitate the safe running of the Wexford Night Run.

Closures and diversions will be rolled out from approximately 7.30pm and will be lifted on a phased basis as runners pass each location.

🚦 Areas affected include:

• South Main Street
• Anne Street / Quays (finish area)
• Peter Street / Mary Street / Clifford Street
• King Street / Barrack Street
• Mullgannon Road / Mill Lane
• Faythe / Upper William Street
• Henrietta Street / Harper’s Lane
• Trinity Street / Oyster Lane / Pierce Court
• Sections of the Quays and surrounding junctions

Access will be managed by Gardaí and stewards, with traffic held or diverted briefly where required.

🛒 Important Lidl Drinagh access information

✔️ The road to Lidl in Drinagh will remain OPEN to vehicular traffic during the event.
➡️ However, while the run is taking place, vehicles exiting Lidl will be required to turn RIGHT only.
➡️ This is a temporary measure to ensure the safety of runners and pedestrians.

ℹ️ Additional information:

• Emergency access will be maintained at all times
• Local access will be facilitated where safe to do so
• Motorists are asked to follow Garda and steward instructions
• Allow extra time for journeys or consider alternative routes
