🚨 A demanding 48 hours for Mayo Mountain Rescue 🚨
The team have responded to three mountain incidents over the past few days, involving two separate mountains and multiple casualties.
📍 Croagh Patrick – Monday
Tasked by An Garda Síochána, our team responded to a female hiker who had fallen while descending Croagh Patrick. The casualty was assessed and subsequently stretchered safely from the mountain.
A special thank you to Frank from the Croagh Patrick Paths Team, who contacted the emergency services and stayed with the casualty until our team arrived. Your actions made a real difference. 👏
📍 Nephin – Yesterday evening
While most people were winding down for the evening, our team were tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist a male hiker on Nephin who required medical assistance. A first response party made their way to the casualty, and he was subsequently stretchered safely from the mountain.
📍 Croagh Patrick – At the same time
As the Nephin callout was ongoing, another party from the team were responding to a female hiker on Croagh Patrick who also required medical assistance. Our second stretcher team was deployed, and the casualty was safely evacuated from the mountain.
