Just one week now until our Wellness event at the Westlodge in Bantry, and we cannot wait! It promises to be a fantastic event, with some inspirational speakers and experiences lined up.

Alongside the event, we'll be showcasing some of the amazing businesses and talents within our membership. You don’t need to work in the wellness industry to take part. It’s open to all of our members. So if you’d like to showcase your business, products, or services, we'd love to hear from you. Just send us a DM here, and we’ll organise the rest.

Our Wellness Event takes place Thursday, the 25th of June, from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm. Tickets are free for Network Ireland Members and €25 for non-members. You’ll find a registration link in the comments below.

We are delighted to welcome Sinéad Crowley from the West Cork Dementia Inclusive Project to the event. Sinéad will briefly speak about the important work being done locally to create a more inclusive and supportive community across West Cork.

Sinéad is a Community Development Practitioner with a professional background in Youth and Community work. The West Cork Dementia Inclusive Project is an initiative dedicated to promoting dementia awareness and supporting the development of inclusive communities across West Cork, with a particular focus on Bantry and Clonakilty. Drawing on her experience in community development, stakeholder engagement, and volunteer-led initiatives, Sinéad works to strengthen community understanding of dementia and to foster environments that enable people living with dementia to remain active, valued, and connected members of their communities, and to offer supports to their families and carers.

In addition to her professional and voluntary commitments, she is an active contributor to community life and is based in Clonakilty, West Cork.

The third of our speakers at our Wellness Event on Thursday next is another member of Network Ireland West Cork, Gwen Bastian-Enright.

Gwen is a Nutritional Therapist living in West Cork, Ireland, with her husband and two children. In practice since 2015, Gwen focuses on women’s health and family nutrition, with a particular focus on helping women thrive in motherhood and in perimenopause. The second of our speakers at next week’s Wellness Event (Thursday 25th of June, from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm, at the Westlodge Hotel, Bantry) is Michele Hallahan, MSc, ALCM, LEED AP.

Michele has worked in the fields of ecological design, environmental management, and sustainability for over 20 years, gaining part of her foundation working at Greenpeace International on oil pollution. Specialising in restorative environmental management and international environmental standards in the US and in Europe, she now consults with SMEs – large businesses on all matters related to environmental sustainability and health impacts.

She served as Vice President of JTED, the design-build firm of internationally renowned ecological designer Dr John Todd, and is a certified Permaculture Designer.

She was formerly the Sustainability Advisor to the Office of the Provost at Trinity College, Dublin, and now teaches with UCC and the Institute of Sustainability Studies on sustainable business topics. Among many of her initiatives at Trinity, she co- launched Ireland’s first deposit-return coffee cup scheme and created an award-winning Resident Sustainability Champions programme for Trinity.

She co-wrote the book ‘Source – A Social, Environmental and Holistic Directory’ (2000) and created Ireland’s first Green Map™ of the Temple Bar area. She is a public speaker on topics such as climate action, environmental toxins, and healthy lifestyles.

In her spare time, she enjoys storytelling, yoga, and gardening (though not all at the same time!).

Getting very excited about our Wellness event, which takes place on Thursday 25th June at the Westlodge Hotel, Bantry, from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm. We have a very exciting lineup, and this week we’ll be focusing on getting to know everyone involved.

First up, it’s Network Ireland West Cork member Dr Sinéad O’Donovan.

Sinéad holds a PhD in Nutritional Science and has worked with 500+ leaders. Most stress management addresses the mind; she addresses what's missing: the physiology. When pressure is ongoing, stress isn't just happening in your thoughts; it's across your nervous system, your energy, your sleep, your body. Through The Leadership Biome, she's built practical tools that work because they address the body and mind together.

Sinéad also sits on the Network Ireland West Cork committee as a membership officer.

Sinéad will be sharing insights around wellbeing, health and balance in busy modern lives.

🎟️ Tickets are free for Network Ireland Members and €25 for non-members.
