106 men and women were stuck in emergency accommodation in Waterford in April 2026.

The same figure as the month before.

No improvement. No progress. No change.

Behind every monthly figure are people waiting for the safety and security of a place to call home.

People deserve better.

356 men and women were stuck in emergency accommodation across the South East last month.

People trying to move forward without the security of a place to call home.

People left waiting in places never meant for living in.

Behind every figure is a person doing their best to keep going.

People deserve better.

476 men, women and children were stuck in emergency accommodation across the South East in April 2026.

Every month, more people are forced to rely on spaces that were only ever meant to be temporary.

Temporary rooms.
Temporary routines.
Temporary living.

But for many, this uncertainty lasts far longer than it should.

Behind these figures are people trying to rest, to recover, to parent, to work, to simply get through the day, all without the security of a place to call home.

People deserve better.

You probably had a cup of tea this morning. Sat in your favourite spot. Didn't think twice about it.

For someone experiencing homelessness here in the South East tonight, that cup of tea - in a safe room, with the door closed, could be the moment everything starts to change.

From just €5 a month, you can be the reason that moment happens.

Home is a cup of tea. A warm welcome at the door. Your own space to just… be.

We all know what home means. But right now, more people than ever here in the South East are facing a night with nowhere safe to go.

This short film was made to remind us of something we can easily take for granted - and to show how quickly it can be taken away.

The good news? You can do something about it. Right now. From your phone.

Sponsor a room from just €5 a month and help make sure no one in the South East has to face tonight alone.

Last month, 106 men and women were stuck in emergency accommodation in Waterford.

Not just a number. A reality.

People like Andrew, who feels like he's been abandoned.

Homelessness isolates you in ways that are hard to explain unless you've been there yourself. It's not just the absence of a home. It's the feeling of being left behind - trying to move forward when everything around you is uncertain, trying to hold on when it feels like the world has stopped noticing you.

This is 2026. And still, 106 people in Waterford are without a home. That's a choice we're making as a society - and one we can unmake.

We believe in a Waterford where no one is left behind.

455 men, women and children were surviving in emergency accommodation here in the South East last month.

Behind every one of those numbers is a story - a person rebuilding after a crisis, navigating something they never chose, trying to hold life together without a place to call home.

This is homelessness in 2026. It's not invisible. It's in our communities, on our streets, among our neighbours.

Everyone deserves a safe place to call home - and working together we believe that's possible.

In March, 344 men and women were stuck in emergency accommodation here in the South East.

344 adults whose lives are shaped by uncertainty - where the next week, the next month, sometimes even the next night, isn’t something they can count on.

260 of them are facing it alone.

No one to share the weight with at the end of the day. No one to talk through a hard decision with, or to simply sit beside in the quiet. Just one person, carrying it all - trying to hold onto some sense of normality, trying to keep going.

Behind every one of these figures is someone doing their best in circumstances most of us will never have to imagine.

They deserve better.

They deserve a place they can afford to call home.

"I got a second life." Those are Kieran's words.

Behind them is a story of what happens when someone is given more than just a place to stay. A place to call home can mean safety. It can mean stability. But more than anything, it can mean finally feeling like you matter.

You made that possible for Kieran. And in Waterford, Kilkenny and South Tipperary here in the South East, you can do the same for someone else - a neighbour who's ready to begin again but needs someone to believe in them first.

Because the support you give isn't just walls and a roof. It's purpose. It's worth. It's the quiet certainty that someone has your back when you need it most.

Become a Room Sponsor today and give someone the second life they never thought they'd have.
