Calling Secondary School students in the Ballybeg/Kilbarry/Lacken area!!!!!

A little reminder of what we do!

Secondary school students can use their time to get organised- complete homework, prepare for tests, or ask for help with a particular subject! - all with our support- [Maths grinds included for our 5th & 6th years.]

If there is no homework, that's okay; we can use that opportunity to look at something they are struggling to understand in school and work through it together ☺️

We are here to provide the additional support that can make the school journey and teenage years a little easier!

And we don't forget to have fun while we are doing it!
Weekly youth work,games and trips away for those who have engaged well.

Smoke Warning.

Following a change in wind direction, smoke from the ongoing fire in Slievenamon in Co Tipperary now may affect areas of Waterford.

People with underlying respiratory conditions are advised to take extra precautions during this time.

People should seek medical help if they have difficulty breathing, have chest pain or have severe wheeze or worsening asthma symptoms.

YOUR THOUGHTS AND IDEAS PLEASE!!!!!
The SÍOL Programme 2026, under the Department of Rural, Community Development and the Gaeltacht, through Waterford City Council are looking for ideas to improve public amenities and infrastructure in Ballybeg.
We are very lucky to have a lot of excellent services aimed at young people in the community , but very little for the older person. We would be interested in your thoughts of turning the Green Area ( pictured above) into a publiic realm, specifically geared towards our older residents. It would include seated areas, Boules courts, Chess tables, and other age friendly amenities. It would improve the opportunity to socialise and meet other people and could be a great focal point to have more age friendly activities in the community.
It also has the potential to have a sensory garden there and a place for the community to relax and unwind in tranquil surrounds.
what are your thoughts? Please share this far and wide as we value your thoughts on this to see if the idea could be taken further.
