MY CYP is proud to join Youth Work Ireland and our fellow youth services nationwide in celebrating Oíche na hÓige on Friday November 28th at the Millennium Centre Church Road Lisduggan 6-8pm. This exciting new initiative by the Department of Education and Youth is a night to recognise the transformative impact of youth work in Ireland and honour the creativity, connection, and confidence that youth work brings to young people and communities across Ireland.

We look forward to welcoming existing members and their parents/guardians also with members of the community to this showcase 🤗

All young people much be accompanied with a parent or guardian.

Small people making big impact 😂😂

Most of these girls have been knocking down the doors for at least 2 year's and finally they are old enough to join.

Four weeks in and they are certainly given an injection of energy into the centre.

Yesterday they had their Halloween party and what fun they had, we may never recover from the noise lol 😂😂.

Calling all schools in 🏫❄️

As winter approaches, we are offering schools across the county a supply of de-icing salt to help keep footpaths and access roads safe during icy conditions.

We will deliver the salt directly to participating schools, but each school must have a suitable bunker or storage area available on site to store it.

Schools interested in receiving a supply are asked to email their request, including full contact details, to [email protected]

Earlier in the year My Creative Community Group started working on a community mosaic focusing on sustainability & recycling along with community engagement. The young people collected old cups plates and decorative delph. They worked individually on designs and then came together as a group to agree on an overall design for the mosaic.

We engaged with Larchville/Lisduggan. Residents Association who supported the project by making the frame and ensuring it was secure enough to hold the mosaic.

Then the fun began , smashing and more smashing followed by assembling.

Once finished we needed to identify a location within the community to display it. We were delighted when Nuala Colfer asked if we wanted to be included in the

SEASON OF CREATION
from September 1st to October 4th, in St. Pauls Church Lisduggan

The mosaic is still currently on display in the community centre if anyone would like to pop in and see it.

Well done to all the girls who took part in this project.

Our Big Pink Gorilla's started a four week program called " Becoming A Young Woman - Self Care.

Week one was all about hair care from how to wash and condition to drying and styling etc

Poor Caoimhe was pressured into getting her hair washed in freezing cold water, she described it as reliving the ice bucket challenge.

The girls enjoyed chocolate fondue and treats, as after all enjoying chocolate is certainly self care.

This week the girls will be learning about skincare.
