💚💛 Celebrating Together — The Margaret’s Way💚💛

Friday night didn’t end with silverware, but it ended exactly how this team does things: together.

No sulking. No slipping off home. No heads down.
Just **good crack**, laughter, pride — and a full squad heading straight to Coolquoy Lodge, where they were welcomed with food, refreshments, and the kind of atmosphere only this group can create.

This team does many things well, but celebrating together — win, lose or draw — is one of their greatest strengths. It’s what makes them a family, not just a panel.

And the generosity shown on the night says everything about the people who support them.
A massive thank you to Declan McDonnell, who put money behind the bar for the team. Declan is a lifelong supporter of St. Margaret’s — and the fact he gave such a generous donation despite not having a daughter on the team shows just how dedicated he is to the club, and especially to the ladies section.

Huge appreciation also to John Fitzgerald and David Martin (Bishopswood) for their incredible generosity. Let’s just say… some of us stayed a "little bit too late" in the Lodge thanks to them.

This team fights hard, plays hard, and celebrates hard — and that’s exactly why they’re so special.

💚💛 Heart. Fight. Margaret’s 💚💛
A tough night in the Junior O Final, but a performance overflowing with fight, heart, and pure Margaret’s spirit. Ballyboden’s early goals put us under real pressure, yet our women refused to step back.

With a few injuries carried in and one of the oldest average ages in the competition — including a 54 year old aul wan — this team showed what experience, grit, and togetherness really look like.

They battled back, chipped away at the gap, and kept pushing right to the final whistle, adding a late point to keep the pressure on and the crowd roaring.

A special mention to captain Jackie Martin, who leads with passion and pride on and off the pitch — the heartbeat of this group.

And to our management team — Aidan, Dave, Catherine, Stan and Mick — thank you. There every week, every session, every match. Your support, organisation and belief mean the world to this team. We are so grateful for all you do.

The scoreboard didn’t fall our way, but the performance said everything.
đź’šđź’› Proud of every single one of them. Up the Maggies.

🌟 MATCH EVE — THE COUNTDOWN IS ON! 🌟
The butterflies are starting.
The boots are nearly packed.
And tomorrow evening, our Ladies 2nd Team walk out for their Championship Final — the moment they’ve been building toward through every bit of madness this season threw at them.

Tonight is all about excitement.
About nerves.
About that brilliant buzz that only comes the night before a big game.

This squad has grafted, laughed, scrambled, improvised, and somehow kept pushing all year. They’ve juggled work shifts, long drives, late arrivals, and the occasional “I’ll be there in five!” that definitely meant twenty. And still — they’ve made it to the final.

Tomorrow evening, they get their chance to show exactly what they’re made of.

And they won’t want to do it alone.

So let’s fill the sidelines.
Let’s make the place shake.
Let’s give them a crowd that lifts every step, every tackle, every breath.

Bring your friends, your family, your neighbours, your dog, your loudest friend — anyone who can shout and anyone who loves a good night of football.

Tomorrow evening is their moment.
Let’s make sure they feel the whole community behind them.

🌟 CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL — THE LADIES 2ND TEAM NEED YOU! 🌟

They’re the team that sometimes shows up… and on a great night might even hit eight players at training (who needs 15 anyway?).

They’ve survived holidays, Gaeltacht trips, college miles away, work shifts, and every excuse under the sun “I swear I thought training was tomorrow” — but they’ve stuck it out together.
We’ve got returning legends who could be at home with a cuppa, young girls bravely playing up and saving the rest of us from running, and older players who are definitely wiser… but absolutely relying on those young legs.
And somehow — against all odds — it might all be coming together.

Can they do it? Can this gloriously chaotic, wonderfully committed squad bring home the trophy?

Find out Friday. Win or lose, they’ve already done the club proud.

So grab your neighbours, your cousins, your granny, and anyone who can shout — and come support the Ladies 2nd Team in their Championship Final. They’ll need your voices… because they’ll be too busy catching their breath.

Our minors got off to a great start this morning in the championship with a 1-17 to 3-09 win in an end‑to‑end battle.
The lads showed heart, determination and kept digging in right up to the final whistle while refusing to let the momentum slip.

Well done team and management 👏
