Great craic for the St Margarets over 40s at the St Bridgets 7 a side tournament yesterday. Got pipped in the final by a good Judes team.

A few guests stepped in and became proud honorary Maggies men. With a couple of lads having experienced some of the 1970s (Decky & Skinny), a meath whoor (Kieran) as he is affectionately known, a sprinkling of Starlights magic (Charlie and Hughiesy), a touch of Fins finesse (Rio, Reg, Sean and Ian Walsh) and a mad man from Garristown (Bobby) along with the flair and panache of (Paddy & Joc) the team dispatched some heavy hitters in Cuala, John Mitchell's and Na Fianna before coming up slightly short to St Judes.

With Charlie, Joc and Decky to the fore in the scoring stakes (with some absolute beauts that you wouldnt see in Croke park) and Hughiesy, Bobby, Skinny & Sean commanding midfield as well as Hughiesy finishing the day as top goal scorer and the defensive wall that was Rio, Reg, Paddy, Kieran and Waller(Ian) this team came for one thing and one only - the craic!

With the crowd thoroughly entertained all day, it was said that this team could be one for the future. As they in NASA - watch this space.

A big thanks to St Bridgets GAA on fabulously ran tournament and St Margarets GAA on taking a punt on these kids.

A warm evening, local rivals, and a great U11 battle against Fingal Ravens ☀️😅

The improvement in this group is clear to see every week — confidence on the ball growing, great teamwork, and some brilliant scores taken along the way 👏🔥

The girls fought hard for every ball and showed plenty of determination right to the final whistle 💪
