BWI Cavan Sling Meets & Library

A sling meet is an informal meet up to learn about slings ,try them on and if you like rent them Meets the 2nd Monday of every month from 10.00am-12.00.

We create a Facebook event approximately 2 weeks in advance, please see the event page for any last minute changes. Our sling meetings are run by Babywearing Ireland volunteers. Babywearing Ireland utilise paperless, contact free sign in, rental form and payment. During the Sling Meet all attendees will be given an Attendance Form which must be completed for insurance purposes. We request a €5 con

tribution per family for attendance, this helps to offset our costs such as insurance, hall rental, refreshments, sling inventory etc. If you wish to rent a sling the rental fees are currently €15 for 1 sling and €25 for 2 slings, this includes the €5 attendance contribution. Slings are rented for one month, pick one up at this months meet and return it at the next. T&Cs apply. We welcome you to stop by for a cuppa and a chat.

The fun stuff:
Our meet is 10-12 pop in and say hi 👋 we always have plenty of tea / biscuits and slings. We’re a bit of craic as well, even if I do say so myself!

The getting there stuff:
As always we are in the hall at the back of the Church of Ireland in Virginia. Enter through the gate on the roundabout and follow the driveway round the back of the church, you’ll find us there!

The boring stuff:

If you wish to rent a sling we charge a rental fee, the fee covers your use of the sling for 1 month.
The current fees are €15 for one sling and €25 for two slings.
All slings are rented from one meet and must be returned to the meet the following month. Late fees are charged where a sling is not returned on time.

Babywearing Ireland operate a “no cash handling” policy for volunteers, this means all payments are made directly to Babywearing Ireland either online or by card machine at the meet.

If possible for you, we appreciate a small contribution of €2-€5 towards running costs such as insurance, hall rental, refreshments etc.

Thought I'd post this pic to chat about toddler sized slings
Lost of ""standard"" toddler size tend to suit approx 2-4 years ,this is because the base is not adjustable, kinda like 1 size fits all for toddlers
This works well for lots of people depending of course on the child being tall / petite etc
There are some slings that suit from small babys to toddlerhood because the base is adjustable to go from v small legs to bigger kid legs ( these tend to be newer slings )
This sling pictured is a tula toddler the child pictured Is a petite 4y ( 4 next week )
Works absolutely fine but I'd guess by new year we will try a preschool size
