**Major Boost for Wicklow Town Taxi Services**

Wicklow Town is set to benefit from a major improvement in local transport services following the new takeover in Wicklow Town for both taxi companies, the 66100 Cabs and Wicklow Kabs now operating under Borough Taxis, Dublin and Wicklow’s number one local companies, here only for local people and local prices. Our company is based in Dublin and Wicklow, but we now have all local drivers part of the two companies.

This development brings a significant increase in taxi availability, with more drivers working locally than at any time in recent years. Borough Taxis will continue to serve Wicklow customers at trusted fixed fares, ensuring consistency and value for individual passengers.

Sean, owner of Borough Taxis, is well known throughout the taxi industry and the local community. As he puts it, if you’re a taxi driver, you know him and if you’re a customer, he knows you better than anyone. That local knowledge and hands on approach are central to this expansion.

Sean says, “What’s happening now is simple, I don’t lie. Local drivers living in Wicklow are often driving to Greystones and Dublin for meter fares, let’s be honest, who wouldn’t? But if the people of Wicklow start using the service again, the work will double, and drivers will be happy to focus on serving the town and surrounding areas.”

The takeover is focused on keeping money in the town, supporting locally based drivers earning a living wage, and rebuilding reliable taxi services after the driver shortages experienced since COVID-19.

Top priority starting from 01/02/26 For added peace of mind, Sean is introducing a guaranteed taxi service to and from Wicklow Town. For an additional €5 fee, this service is intended for customers who may have previously lost confidence in reliably booking a taxi. As Sean himself says, “there’s really no need to use it. It’s just an extra layer of peace of mind for anyone who wants it.”
