💙 Electric Picnic T-Shirt Day at Dolan's Pharmacy 🎶👕

With Electric Picnic kicking off this weekend , the Dolan's team are swapping the usual pharmacy attire for their favourite Band T-shirts today & tomorrow as they proudly support us here in Dochas and help raise vital funds. 💙

It’s a little bit of fun, a lot of team spirit, and most importantly, an opportunity to show their support for people and families affected by cancer. 🎗️

If you’re calling into the pharmacy today or tomorrow, you’ll see them getting into the Electric Picnic spirit! 🎪✨

Our next Bereavement Support Group will begin on Wednesday, 9th September 2026 at 7.00pm, running over six weeks.

This programme is open to anyone who has experienced a bereavement, regardless of the nature of their loss, and is offered free of charge.

Grief can be a deeply personal experience, but you do not have to navigate it alone. The group provides a safe, confidential and supportive space to share your feelings, thoughts and experiences with others who may be going through something similar.

The six-week programme is facilitated by our accredited counsellor, Mr Seamus Sheedy, who will support and guide participants throughout the programme.

Registration is essential.

To register your interest, please contact the Dóchas office on 057 932 8268. Our team can provide you with the full programme dates and have a confidential conversation with you about whether the group feels like the right support for you at this time.

💛 THE DAVITT STREET KIDZ – €755 RAISED FOR DÓCHAS! 💛

Remember these little legends? They came back to see us yesterday with a very special delivery: an incredible €755 for Dóchas Offaly Cancer Support Group!

What began as a simple pop-up shop on Davitt Street and a random act of kindness became something far bigger than anyone expected.

After we shared their story a couple of weeks ago here on social media, their parents began receiving messages asking, “Are the kids opening the shop today?” Throughout the summer, the Davitt Street Kidz kept selling the beautiful things they made. When they sold out, they went home, made more and restocked for the next day.

They even organised a raffle, with neighbours, friends and members of the community buying tickets and making additional donations.

We were delighted to welcome the gang to Teach Dochas yesterday. We enjoyed some sweets and drinks together and made a small presentation to thank them for something that has touched us all.

A special thank you to their parents and families for encouraging and supporting them, and to their neighbours, friends and everyone who visited the shop, bought something, supported the raffle or donated. You showed these children that kindness can make a real difference.

Their story has even inspired others locally to think about their own acts of kindness – perhaps their greatest achievement of all!!

€755 is an extraordinary amount, but the kindness, generosity and community spirit behind it are worth so much more.

To the Davitt Street Kidz: you should be incredibly proud. You reminded us that you don’t need to be grown-up, have lots of money or organise a huge event to make a difference. Sometimes, it starts with one little idea and one random act of kindness.

Thank you, Davitt Street Kidz. You are something very special.

The guys are back out on the streets! The Davitt Street Kidz as they have fondly become to be known as. Their little pop up shop was in action yesterday and we were delighted to pop down for a little visit. Gorgeous children doing an unwarranted act of kindness. The future is bright! As we said to the guys yesterday, their little initiative is catching on and we couldn’t be prouder of them!

We have it under good authority, that weather permitting, they’ll be on Davitt Street over the coming few days so pop down and support them if you can.

Community in action, kids with hearts bigger than their bodies can handle!

Last chance to get in to the raffle if you can’t make today! Online raffle closes at 3pm with draw taking place this evening during the auction.

We will say our thank yous in full after today’s event but a massive thank you to the Buckley Family for all their work with what promises to be a phenomenal event later today. We fondly remember their son John today, the motivation for this event today and keep him in our thoughts at all times today.

Viewing commences at 3.30pm and auction for main items starts at 6.30pm. There are some instant sale items available and something for everyone. Trust us when we say the level of items available is simply phenomenal!
