To promote training in IT and Soft skills to marginalised and community groups, and to promote and develop computer literacy and skills in trainees for use in all types of businesses, trades, professions, and forms of employment. We are a rural community social enterprise (training center) serving the greater Offaly area. To provide, rent, lease of hire hall, rooms or computer equipment and facili

ties for the ongoing business of the Company. To provide training in social skills in order to support the development of individuals, groups and services. Providing an employment placement service to those individuals in cooperation with the local authorities within the county. To provide Meals on Wheels service to meet the social, health and economic needs of those identified as been marginalised, and other community services for older persons.

That’s a wrap on our second and final VEX Robotics Summer Camp of the summer!

What a fantastic week of learning, creating and having fun. Throughout the week, participants explored VR, robotics, LEGO, Micro:bits, Minecraft Education and drones, with plenty of opportunities to build, code, problem-solve and get creative.

A huge well done to everyone who took part. It was brilliant to see everyone getting stuck in, trying new things and developing new skills throughout the week.

Ballycommon Technology & Training Centre will be at the Community Summer Event today in People's Park, Portarlington, where we’ll be showcasing our Robotics Programme and giving attendees the chance to get involved with some fun and interactive robotics activities.

There will be plenty happening throughout the day, including fun and games, community bingo, story time, health screenings, and much more.

Come along, say hello and have a go at robotics with Ballycommon TTC. We’d love to see you there!
