Today is the day of national strike, anyone who is on strike in close proximity to St Mary's Youth and Community Centre, you are more than welcome to call into the centre and use our toilet facilities or make a cup of tea or coffee.

🎭 A great night out for two local causes! 🎭

Local company STERIS will be bringing their play Swan Song to St Mary’s Youth and Community Centre this Friday, 16th October!

📍 St Mary’s Youth and Community Centre, Tullamore
🚪 Doors open: 7pm
🎬 Show starts: 7.30pm
🎟️ Tickets: €15 each

All money taken in will be split between ACT Tullamore and St Mary’s Youth Centre. Your support will help both organisations continue their work in our community. 💛

To purchase your tickets:
Scan the Revolut QR code, make your payment and include your name and the number of tickets purchased in the payment note. Your name will then be added to the door list.

Bring along your friends and family, enjoy an evening of local theatre and support the STERIS team as they take to the stage for two worthy causes! 👏

As a mark of Respect for Sr Genny the centre will not open tomorrow to allow staff and volunteers time go to the funeral and pay their respects. The centre will not be open for clubs tomorrow evening either. Thank you.

🕊️ Remembering Sr Genevieve Hassey

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Sr Genevieve Hassey, who passed away early this morning, 3rd October 2026.

Sr Genny holds a very special place in the history of St Mary’s Youth and Community Centre. As one of the people who helped establish and shape the Centre in its early years, her commitment to young people and the local community helped lay the foundations for the Centre we are so proud of today.

Generations of young people have benefited from her vision of creating a welcoming place where they could come together, make friends, learn, grow and be supported. Her legacy continues every day through the work of St Mary’s and through the Sr Genevieve Hassey Scholarship, which proudly carries her name.

On behalf of our Board, staff, volunteers and members, we extend our deepest sympathies to Sr Genny's family, her fellow Sisters, friends and all who knew her.

Her legacy will continue through the generations of young people who walk through our doors.

May Sr Genny rest in peace. 🕊️
