The Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund was delighted to recently present approximately €30,000 in funding to a number of individuals, groups, and organisations who are continuing Ashling’s legacy of supporting young people in the areas of traditional Irish arts, culture, and heritage.

A number of applicants were submitted with outlines of individual funding requirements and how the funding would be used. Following careful consideration of every application, and assessment in line with our budget and constitutional criteria, we were honoured to award funding to the following:
• Down Syndrome Centre Midlands
• Fleadh Cheoil Uíbh Fhailí
• Gaelscoil na Laochra, Birr
• Loughmore NS, Tipperary
• Ballinagar National School
• Coláiste Choilm, Tullamore
• Fleadh Cheoil Laoise
• Presentation Junior School, Mullingar
• Scoil Íde, Clondalkin
• Mucklagh, Rahan, The Island Community Games
• Clonaghadoo National School
• Scoil an Bhríde, Ballyboy
• Leinster Fleadh
• Tullamore Educate Together

We wish each of these groups and organisations the very best as they implement their projects and initiatives. We look forward to hearing how the funding has helped to support and develop their work while continuing Ashling’s legacy in meaningful and lasting ways.

It is truly wonderful to see Ashling’s legacy living on through projects such as sensory garden upgrades, autism class resources, musical instruments, art initiatives, Irish language development projects, support for musical festivals, community involvement projects and so much more.

‼️Please note that applications are not currently being accepted. Applications for Q3 2026 will open on 1st September 2026 and will close in mid-November 2026. All applications received during this period will be carefully reviewed, with decisions expected to be issued in December 2026.

Please follow our social media pages for updates and the release of the application form, or visit our website at www.ashlingmurphy.com

✨In the meantime, if you would like to support the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund, making a donation or hosting a fundraiser will help us continue supporting others. Race #13 of 26 in 2026 completed for Ashling 💪

John Healy is officially halfway through his incredible challenge 👏

Since the beginning of 2026, John has completed 13 marathons, with 13 more to go - aiming for a remarkable total of 26 marathons by the end of 2026.

From North to South - Carrickfergus to Tralee, East to West - Leixlip to Connemara, and even further afield in London and the Sonora Desert of Arizona, John continues to honour Ashling with every step he takes.

✨ If you would like to support John at this halfway mark, please leave a message of encouragement in the comments below. Donations can be made through www.ashlingmurphy.com - every contribution is deeply appreciated.

This remarkable undertaking is a powerful tribute to Ashling and a testament to John’s dedication, determination, and kindness.

𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡, 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙖 𝙬𝙧𝙖𝙥.
Almost a week on from the Aisling Murphy event in Tullamore, we once again want to thank the many people who made it all possible.
Very often, the work behind the scenes is never imagined. It’s not just the work on the day itself that helps pull an event across the line - there were weeks and months of planning, organising, and preparation. That unseen work is what made the event possible, and we are incredibly grateful to each person who played a part.
A special thank you to Offaly County Council for the support with road closures. We are deeply grateful for the permission granted and the assistance from staff both in administration and those who helped set up the course barriers.
An Garda Síochána Laois/Offaly for their strong presence and assistance.
Fiona Leavy, Barry Minnock and the Centra stores for their generous sponsorship - every finisher received a fantastic goody bag.
The staff of Bank of Ireland for their tremendous support.
Orla Grennan and the staff of the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore.for complimentary refreshments for our volunteers after the race.
John Cusack and Bridge Shopping Centre for the use of the bathrooms and parking facilities for competitors.
Donal Rigney from Hire Depot.
Offaly Civil Defence for ensuring participant safety.
Tullamore Camera Club for the thousands of wonderful photos taken throughout the morning.
The local newspapers for their coverage and support leading up to the race.
Brian and Anto from Pop Up Races.
To the supporting athletic clubs.
We want to acknowledge the many volunteers around the course. Volunteers are the backbone of every community event, and we truly appreciate every single person who gave their time and energy.
Most of all, thank you to everyone who came to the start line and walked or ran the Aisling Murphy 4 Miler in support of Aisling, her family, the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund and Offaly Athletics.
It was a wonderful day, and the feedback has been amazing. All the hard work was truly worthwhile.
We hope to see each and every one of you again next year.
Once again, thank you.
