What a day! 💚 A huge thank you to all 30 organisations who took part in our Expo 2026. This collab with our buddies at Offaly Local Development Company never fails to put a smile on our collective faces!

From OSPCA to Bracknagh Heritage Society, Jigsaw, and so many more, it was a joy to see the people and voluntary work that make Offaly such a special place. 🙌🏻💚🤍🧡

Our sincere thanks to the team at the Bridge Centre, Tullamore. The heartbeat of our town, and they couldn’t have been more helpful or welcoming.💚🤍🧡

🕯️ The Global Wave of Light | Thursday, 15th October

We are very happy to share this special invitation from Cuidiú Offaly, who are hosting a candlelit gathering in Tullamore to mark Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day.

The Global Wave of Light is a worldwide moment of remembrance, as candles are lit at 7 pm across different time zones to honour babies and pregnancies lost, and to offer love and solidarity to the families and loved ones who carry their memories. 🤍

📍 Lloyd Town Park, Tullamore (beside the car park at the park entrance)

📅 Thursday, 15th October

🕖 Gathering from 6.45 pm, with candle lighting at 7 pm.

This is an open community gathering, and everyone is welcome, whether they have a connection with Cuidiú or not. There is no expectation to speak or share. Simply being present is enough.

Battery-operated tea lights will be provided, and music from Fiona Dunkin and Dave Hawkins will help create a gentle atmosphere for the evening.

A lovely opportunity for our community to come together in remembrance, compassion, and support. 🤍

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ What a brilliant morning here at tullamore_harriers

We’re delighted to be lending a hand at the Annual Tommy Godley Offaly Schools Competition, bringing together primary and post-primary pupils from across the county.

It’s so uplifting to see so many young people enjoying sport, representing their schools, and cheering each other on!

The competition honours the late Tommy Godley, a dedicated athletics coach and volunteer who gave so much of his time to encouraging young athletes in Offaly. What a wonderful legacy, and a lovely reminder of the difference one person can make by giving back to their community. 💚🤍🧡

And speaking of giving back, we’re getting pretty good at this Community Volunteering business!

Our fantastic Community Volunteers step up whenever they can, helping out at events like this right across The Faithful County. That’s the beauty of the programme. You give your time when you’re available, and every little bit makes a difference.

A huge thank you to our volunteers helping out today, and to everyone involved in organising this wonderful event.

Some places just make you feel good. 💚

Huge congratulations to everybody and anybody involved in the rejuvenation of the wonderful Killeigh Community Centre, which had its official blessing today.

Our Dee was delighted to be there for what was a gorgeous occasion, celebrating what has to be one of the most beautiful community facilities in Offaly.

We’re especially proud of our Board Member Patricia Nunan, who is amongst the heroes behind bringing this very special place back to life.

And today? All the feel-good factors. Community, pride, hard work paying off, and a place ready to be enjoyed for years to come.

A huge congratulations to our volunteers at The Garden of Peace and Produce! 🌻

Nearly four years ago, we surveyed our Ukrainian friends about their experiences of living in Offaly and what they would like to do here. Gardening came up again and again. We listened, developed a proposal, brought it to local stakeholders, and the rest has been blooming lovely!

This is the project’s second prize from Tullamore Credit Union, and one of many moments worth celebrating. Our volunteers have brought colour to corners of Offaly that needed a little TLC, and made the garden a place people love spending time in.

The work carries on through winter, but there will be time to rest, look back at what has grown, and dream up what to plant next spring. 🌱

Oh, and find a shelf for our prizes!! 😜 🌟

Our team is at the Ploughin’! 🚜

The buzz is electric, and we haven’t stopped to take a breath. Well, all of us except our Dee, who never lets an opportunity to chat to a politician pass her by! Give them a lovely bag, and then bend their respective ears about volunteering in Offaly. She’s better than an ambassador! 😂 💚🤍💛

A huge thank you to the Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary, agus An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, for taking the time to stop, chat, and listen.
