What a wonderful way to spend a Thursday during National Volunteering Week 2026! ☀️🔥

Today, we were delighted to attend the fantastic Traveller Pride event hosted by the Offaly Traveller Movement in the Tullamore Presbyterian Church on High Street. From the moment we arrived, there was such a welcome.

The old Traveller Camp Fire setup was absolutely beautiful and sparked so many conversations and memories. There was bun and cake bread making, paper flower making, music, food, tea by the campfire, entertainment for the children, and a lovely sense of people coming together, sharing stories, traditions, and laughter. It was BRILL! 🙌🏻

Events like this remind us exactly what National Volunteering Week is all about. “From Every Corner, For Every Cause” is more than just a theme. It is people connecting, learning from one another, celebrating culture, and building stronger communities together.

A huge thank you to everyone at Offaly Traveller Movement for having us. We learned so much, met wonderful people, and thoroughly enjoyed the day. 💛

WE HAD THE LAUNCH OF OUR TRISHAW PROGRAMME TODAY and, despite the weather not quite getting the memo that it is MAY, we had a fantastic day! ☔(note the Mr Blue Sky soundtrack). 🤷🏻‍♀️ We got LOADS of snaps but want to sift through them to find our best side! 💋
This, as y’all know is part of National Volunteering Week 2026, and this year’s wonderful theme, “From Every Corner, For Every Cause”, today was a perfect example of community spirit in action.

This heartwarming initiative, in collaboration with the Tullamore & District Lions Club, is all about people getting active, getting out and about, enjoying a cuppa and a bun, sharing stories, and seeing Offaly at its absolute finest. 💚🤍💛

WE ARE LOVING IT, and we are only getting started.

If you would like to volunteer as a (tri)cyclist, or if you know someone who would enjoy a trip out on the Trishaw, give Frances a shout on 083 118 7273 and we will arrange it.

National Volunteering Week 2026 is here, and we are ready to celebrate the incredible people who give their time, energy, kindness, and skills to communities right across Offaly.

This year’s theme, “From Every Corner, For Every Cause”, shines a light on the amazing variety of volunteering happening every single day. From community groups and Meals on Wheels, to sports clubs, environmental projects, youth work, fundraising, befriending, and so much more, volunteers truly are the heartbeat of our communities.

To every volunteer, thank you. Your impact reaches further than you will ever know. Keep an eye on our social media this week as we celebrate volunteering in all its forms!

We’re very excited about which takes place next week. We’ve lots planned and you’ll surely see us somewhere in The Faithful!
One exciting event we just cannot keep to ourselves is the launch of our Trishaw Summer Programme. This super collab between us and Tullamore Lions Club is going to be epic!

In advance of National Volunteering Week next week, and boy have we got a packed one ahead, here’s a little snapshot of just some of the things our volunteers get up to across Offaly.

From community cafés to Meals on Wheels, social outings to support services, events to environmental projects, there is always something happening, and volunteers are right at the heart of it all. 💚🤍💛

The theme of National Volunteering Week 2026 is “From Every Corner, For Every Cause”, and we think that perfectly reflects the incredible people who give their time, energy, kindness, and skills to communities across the county every single day. You’ll see that next week!
