Netplants Ireland

Netplants Ireland Created by Kerry One World Centre, this page will display all information regarding our involvement in the Erasmus Netplants project.

This 3 year project, entitled ‘NETPLANTS’ will address food poverty. Led by AFIDEL, www.afidel.org, an adult education provider in south west France, and other partner countries: (Ireland), Romania, Spain, and the UK. The partners will share their experiences (effective methods transfer) and co-create new approaches to bring knowledge and skills to the target group, which will include people from

disadvantaged backgrounds. Training measures will aim to increase participants’ knowledge and capacity to grow food and use plant products as self-sustaining citizens. The project will result in: 4 practical guides (1 in each domain); 36 trained facilitators at the end of the project; 4 on-line courses (1 in each domain); 4 learning tool boxes; 1 web site (in 4 languages); 4 professional FaceBook pages (1 in each national language); 5 multiplier events (1 in each participating country). KOWC looks forward to involving locally available bodies and skilled practitioners in the project to deliver the training measures and related resources to Kerry residents initially, with potential for further replication throughout the country. NETPLANTS partnership in the coming year will develop a series of workshops about cooking, gardening, decorating with plants, and creating cosmetics using wild plants.
