InMyElement - Outdoor Learning, Living and Discovery

Hi. I is Darach Ó Murchú. I have been working in the outdoors since 2005, originally as a mountaineering instructor running hillwalking courses in Ireland, winter mountaineering trips to Scotland and working in the Alps and greater ranges leading high altitude expeditions to remote places. Always interested in nature, the outdoors and the envir

onment. Life took a turn in 2012 and I started a foray into nature and environmental education. I run workshops in Wild food (seaweeds and land plants) Foraging, Nature & Environmental Education, Wildflower & Tree Walks, General Ecology & Biodiversity, Nature Crafts, Bushcraft, Outdoor Ethics, Nature Connection and I still do a bit of Mountaineering. Other things I'm interested in Community initiatives: Transition Towns, Plastic Free Di**le, Community Woodland Project; Hitchhiking, Permaculture, making your own herbal medicine, growing your own food, Meitheals: skill sharing, repair café. I do other random stuff: media (TV, radio, articles for publications), slideshows, lectures and presentations, I also do wildfood cooking demonstrations.

SEAWEED IDENTIFICATION IN MAHAREES WITH DARACH Ó MURCHÚ FOR HERITAGE WEEK

Join Maharees Conservation Association and Darach Ó Murchú in a seaweed identification event for The Heritage Council's Heritage Week. Learn about the range of seaweed growing in the bays around Maharees; learn how to forage for seaweed and include it in your diet. This event will be held on an uneven rocky shoreline and attendees are advised to wear suitable walking shoes. Keep an eye on our social media channels for updates. As parking is limited at the site, we encourage attendees to carpool/walk/cycle to the event as much as possible.

All those interested in attending this free event should book by sending an email to [email protected] as numbers will be limited.

This event has been funded by the Local Authority Waters Programme Grant Scheme Castlegregory Information Centre Discover Kerry Di**le Peninsula Tourism
