Cruinniú na nÓg, an initiative of CreativeIrl is Ireland's day of free creativity for children.
On June 6th Riona Sally Hartman will present 2 FREE workshops.
Workhops are ideally for 3 to 7 year olds, but all ages are welcome!
11:30am/12:15pm:
Join Ríona while she shares her original Irish-language children’s songs. This informal, interactive workshop is ideally suited to children under seven years old, but all ages are welcome —sing along, learn a fun clapping game in Irish, and come celebrate our beautiful language together!
No Irish? No problem! The songs will be presented in an accessible, inclusive way and the lyrics will be explained in English in a fun, engaging way. Bígí linn!
2pm/3pm
Ríona will take childrenon a song hunt to discover and create music and sounds together from scratch.
We will explore the sounds we can make from all sorts of things; crinkly paper, leaves and twigs and of course our voices! Together, we’ll record the sounds, layering them up on top of each other using a simple loop pedal.
Singing, speaking, humming, whispering... Who knows what kind of songs or soundscapes will emerge from our intrepid, curious, auditory explorations? Dance party or chill out zone - you’ll have to come along and hear for yourself!
All workshops are free but booking is preferred: https://www.courthousearts.ie/
