Nesting season is well underway across Ireland. Many birds are now building nests, laying eggs, or caring for young. These nests are often carefully hidden in hedgerows, trees, long grass and even garden shrubs.
Disturbance during this time can cause nests to fail or young birds to be left vulnerable. Simple actions can make a difference - avoid disturbing hedges and vegetation, keep dogs under control in wildlife-sensitive areas and observe wildlife from a distance.
Spring is one of the most important times of year for wildlife. Giving animals space now helps ensure the next generation survives!
