As we approach the first anniversary of the official launch of *Love Is Not Enough: Families’ Journeys through Addiction*, we want to take a moment to introduce the book, the families behind it and the reason it was created.

*Love Is Not Enough* was written by family members who understand what it means to love and support someone experiencing drug, alcohol or gambling addiction.

Through a safe and supported therapeutic journaling process, families found the courage to put their experiences into words—sharing the fear, grief, difficult decisions, resilience and hope that can exist behind closed doors.

The book was created in partnership with the HSE, GamblingCare and the Tallaght Drug and Alcohol Task Force.

It was written to:

* Give families affected by addiction a voice
* Break the silence, isolation and stigma surrounding their experiences
* Help other families recognise that they are not alone
* Show that addiction affects the whole family
* Remind family members that they also deserve understanding, support and their own opportunity to heal

As we move closer to the anniversary, we will be sharing photographs, reflections and special memories from the journey towards the book’s launch—including the radio interview, the Wicklow community launch and the official launch at Tallaght Library.

We will also recognise the families, organisations and supporters who helped bring these important stories into the light.

One year later, the message remains the same: every family’s story matters, and no family should have to face addiction alone.
