Alix, one of our Leaders, recently journeyed up to the The National Training Centre of the Irish Girl Guides in Dublin to represent the South East region and undertake training to run the “Free Being Me” program; an evidence-based program focused on ridding young girls of body-based anxieties so they can feel comfortable in their own skin and participate in the activities they love. They discussed body image, beauty standards, and Really got talking about this program. The amazing Rio from WAGGGS headquarters ran the training and taught the Leaders and Senior Branch members how to run the program back in their local units.

ANTARCTIC NEWS:
Mon Nov 20th.

We are finally here- Antarctica! After the epic storm, we woke up surrounded by islands of snow.

Im feeling a lot of awe.

Just back from an excursion to Aicho Island, with Chinstrap & Gentoo penguins. Words describing the experience have not yet come-I’m still processing, it’s a very special place.
