Marie Keating Foundation
A big Go raibh agat to Barbara and the Marie Keating Foundation for a very well presented and informative talk on Cancer. Ways to avoid Cancer, Being a Healthy weight, Eating a helathy diet, Being physically active, Knowing your family history and inportantly visiting your GP at least once a year and having your psa blood test.
And don't forget the suncream and a hat to cover the solar panel.

Mid Summer Lunch
Our summer lunch in the Manor today 22/7/26 all enjoyed their grub and thanks to our committee and especially Jack for organising the get-together and the staff of the manor for their great service. Thanks to Mick and Sean for pics.

ARDGILLAN DEMESNE visit
Ardgillan Castle is a country house near Balbriggan . It is set in the 200 acre Ardgillan Demesne a public park in the jurisdiction of Fingal County Council. The previous owner of the land was Rober Usher a wine merchant from Tallaght. The house was built by the Reverend Robert Taylor son of Sir Thomas Taylor, 1st Baronet in 1738. When he bought the land it was quite a wooden area so he employed some former soldiers from Bangor and paid the 1d and a meal per day as well as a bed every nighat. They also recieved a tot of Irish whiskey form Bushmill which was brought in for 2 shilling 2 pence a gallon. Swords mens shed enjoyed a day strolling around the estate and house and all enjoyed the day. Thanks to Jim Hawkins for organising and to Dave Gilligan and Joe McNamara for photos of the day.

NEXT LEVEL
A BIG Thank you to our resident band Next Level for entertaining us over the last year, they are taking a well earned rest for the summer months(presuming we get a summer). Thank also to David for the poetry, a bit of culture in the shed for a change.......

The annual Mens Shed gathering was held on Monday 16th June as part of Mens Health week and was very well attended by Swords, Skerries, Balbriggan, Rush, Portmarnock and Malahide sheds. The event sponsored by Fingal County Council with activities, walks and a lovely lunch and a great band supplying great music. A great day out for all Well done all.
