We’re delighted to share that AgeWell has been awarded €20,000 through the Bank of Ireland Community Fund, in partnership with The Community Foundation for Ireland.

This support will enable us to expand our work with people living with dementia, ensuring more older adults can remain connected, supported, and living well in their communities.

A sincere thank you to everyone involved in making this possible—from our partners and coordinators to our dedicated Companions who bring this work to life every day.

Together, we are building stronger, more inclusive communities for older people across Ireland. 💙

SeniorLine, Ireland’s national telephone support service for older people, is currently seeking volunteers in Co. Meath

Are you aged 55+ and looking for a meaningful and rewarding new challenge? This could be the perfect opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s life.

📍 Training Location: Summerhill, Co. Meath
📅 Dates: Tuesday 3rd, Wednesday 4th & Thursday 5th March
⏰ Time: 10.30am – 3.30pm daily

Third Age is proud to be part of the Alliance of Age Sector NGOs, which today launched the third report in the Telling It Like It Is series — “Experiences of Older People at End of Life 2025.”

The report draws on the National End of Life Survey to share the real experiences of older people and their families, highlighting key areas that matter most:

🤝 Access to Key People and Timely Help
🏠 Care in the Community
💐 Bereavement Support

Among its key recommendations, the Alliance renews the call for an Independent Commissioner for Ageing and Older People and for stronger community supports, training, and awareness.

We provide a range of English Language supports to migrants, refugees and individuals seeking international protection. Our Failte Isteach classes Third Age are supported by a group of talented and dedicated volunteers who give up their time to support the well being and integration of people from across the world that have made Ireland and Waterford their home. ✨🌍

We also run professional development English classes to support people who are seeking to improve their education and employment prospects in collaboration with private language schools in Waterford. 👨‍🏫👩‍🎓
