From all of us at Summerhill First Responders, we’d like to wish our community, supporters, and incredible volunteers a very Merry Christmas. 🎄

Thank you for your continued support and kind donations, throughout the year — we truly couldn’t do what we do without you.

We’ll be out responding in our community over the festive period to support those in need.

Wishing you a safe, peaceful, and happy Christmas.

During the festive period, demand for 999 services rises significantly as we respond to life-threatening emergencies.

With over 39,000 calls last December and demand continuing to grow, we expect more than 40,000 emergency calls this Christmas, meaning some patients may experience longer wait times.

Please call 999 only during real emergencies.

🚨 We are currently dealing with a very high call volume nationwide 🚨

If you're sick, please consider all your care options including the out-of-hours doctor, on call pharmacist or going directly to the Emergency Department.

Calling an ambulance will not get you seen at ED any quicker.

Please only ring 999 or 112 in a real emergency so that we can help those who need us most.

Summerhill Community First Responders would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Brenda Kelly for her incredible efforts in raising €5,024 for our group through her GoFundMe fundraiser — an achievement she earned by taking on the Berlin Marathon!

Despite challenging conditions and running with an injury, Brenda showed remarkable determination and strength to cross the finish line.
Her motivation came from a deeply personal place. In April, a family member suffered a cardiac arrest and received life-saving CPR from the National Ambulance Service and members of the Summerhill First Responder group. That event inspired Brenda to give back and support the volunteers who play such a vital role in our community.

The funds raised will go directly towards life-saving equipment and training, helping our group to continue to be there when every second counts

From everyone at the Summerhill CFR group — thank you, Brenda. Your courage, compassion, and community spirit are truly inspiring.

A presentation took place at our recent monthly meeting in the Summerhill Community Centre , where Brenda was joined by members of the CFR group.

⚠️⚠️ PUBLIC ACCESS AED ALERT ⚠️⚠️

Summerhill Community First Responders are delighted to announce the installation of a new Public Access Defibrillator (AED) — available 24/7 for use by anyone in our community.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Councillor Joe Fox who generously donated €1,000 from the Meath County Council discretionary fund to support the purchase of this life-saving equipment. Joe has been a long-time supporter of our group since its formation, and we are deeply grateful for his continued commitment to our community.
