☕❤️ What a morning! Thank you, Sligo!

Our Havin’ a Laugh Coffee Morning & Raffle at the Brasserie Café in The Canopy was a wonderful success, raising just over €1,500!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, enjoyed a cuppa, bought raffle tickets, donated prizes, helped out and supported us in so many different ways.

🎟️ 45 prizes generously donated by 25 local businesses!

All raffle winners have now been contacted! Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to everyone who took a chance.

The money raised will go directly towards our unique mental wellbeing voucher service, supporting people on their mental health recovery journey by giving them access to some of the best that Sligo has to offer. From gyms and fitness activities to wellness therapies, arts, crafts and other experiences that encourage connection, enjoyment and wellbeing.

❤️ Making connections was another big part of the morning.

It was wonderful to have local mental health and community support services represented at The Canopy, creating opportunities for the public to learn more about the supports available locally.

Just as importantly, it gave those working across these services a chance to meet, share information and get to know each other's work. The more connected our services are, the better we can support people in our community.

A special thank you to Mark and Carla from North West STOP, Loretta from Social Prescribing, Sarah from Solas Café, and Claire from LEADER WorkAbility and SICAP for joining us.

And a particularly heartfelt thank you to Val Robus, who launched our very first Havin’ a Laugh Coffee Morning many years ago and has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this one together. From gathering raffle prizes to coordinating the many little details, Val has put an enormous amount of time and heart into making the morning a success. Thank you, Val! ❤️

We have 25+ prizes and still growing, all generously donated by brilliant local businesses and supporters. ❤️

There’s a fantastic mix of prizes including café and restaurant vouchers, wellbeing treatments, beauty vouchers, gifts, experiences, hampers, Kate Spade sunglasses, afternoon tea for two, a cinema experience, a family pass and plenty more!

A lovely Saturday morning at Beltra Country Markets ❤️

We’re delighted that Havin’ a Laugh has been chosen as their charity of choice for the coming weeks through October. You can support us by picking up something from the gift table and popping your donation into the honesty box — or simply come along, enjoy the market and help spread the word about this lovely local spot.

There’s so much to browse — local crafts, food, baking, sweet treats and plenty more. This morning we were treated to a fabulous Indian cooking demonstration, met Claire, Sarah and some of the lovely people behind the market, and bumped into a few familiar faces along the way.

Our regular Havin’ a Laugh Coffee Morning is back on Monday 7th September at the Riverside Hotel, Sligo.

No agenda, no pressure, just a chance to get out of the house, have a cuppa and connect with others in a relaxed and friendly space.

Come on your own or bring someone along. Stay for ten minutes or stay for the chats, whatever works for you. 💛

A very overdue thank you to the wonderful Val Robus for sitting down with me earlier this summer for a chat about Havin’ a Laugh. 💛

As always, I loved getting the chance to talk about the charity, why we do what we do and how it has grown. But I equally love the chats behind the scenes with Val, hearing how she’s getting on, seeing how far she’s come and feeling very lucky that Havin’ a Laugh has been a little part of her journey along the way.

A huge thank you to Tubbercurry Old Fair Day for inviting Havin’ a Laugh to be part of this year’s celebrations, and to the wonderful support services we work with who came along and joined us. 💛

It’s so important that people know what supports are available in their own community, so having the opportunity for all of us to be visible and accessible at Old Fair Day was hugely valuable.

And there was another lovely benefit to bringing everyone together — the conversations between the services themselves! Sharing ideas, making connections and discovering opportunities to collaborate. ☕💬

Sometimes simply getting everyone around the same table is where the best ideas begin.

Thank you to everyone who joined us — hopefully we’ll all get together again soon!

July Coffee Morning - 6th July, 11am - Ripples Café - Riverside Hotel

The Havin’ a Laugh Charity Coffee Morning at the Riverside Hotel offers more than just tea, coffee, and conversation, it’s a welcoming space where people can reconnect, share stories, and strengthen community bonds.

The morning celebrates the importance of community, reminding us that belonging is not measured by how long we have been present, but by our willingness to reach out and engage with others.

Whether returning after months or years away, attendees are welcomed as part of the wider community, with shared experiences, laughter, and conversation.

✨ Coffee Morning – This Monday ✨

Happy New Year 💛

After last Monday’s snow, we’re delighted to be going ahead with our Havin’ a Laugh Coffee Morning this Monday, 12th January, at 11am in the Riverside Hotel, in the bar area reserved just for us.

Christmas can bring both challenges and joys, and we’d love the chance to catch up, check in, and see how everyone is really doing as we ease into the New Year.

There’s no charge, just buy your coffee as normal and join us for a relaxed hour of connection. Everyone is very welcome. ☕💬
