I went to visit Killeshin Forever Young Group in Co. Laois to give a presentation about Our Shoes, through our chats & cups of tea, we all learn that life is so much better & fuller, when we open our hearts & minds and expand our communities with Kindness. 17,000 PAIRS OF SHOES - PACKED AND READY TO GO! 👟📦

What an amazing way to finish this year’s Our Shoes campaign.

Today, our volunteers packed 17,000 pairs of children’s shoes into the shipping container. Tomorrow, they’ll be on the high seas, beginning their journey to children in townships in South Africa.

A huge thank you to every family, school, teacher, pupil and volunteer who collected, donated, sorted and packed shoes over the past few months.

And a special thank you to DPD Ireland for helping us collect the shoes from across the country, and Smurfit Westrock for providing the boxes that helped us get 17,000 pairs packed and ready for their journey.

17,000 pairs of shoes. 17,000 opportunities for a second life. ❤️👟

Day 1 of our 2026 shoe sort underway. ❤️.

Just over 4,000 pairs boxed before lunch. Its heading for 28 degrees but there is no slowing down our volunteers 😀😀. Ita amazing what the promise of ice cream later will do. 🍦🌞🍦

Great to be joined by a team from our logistics partners DPD Ireland . And thanks so much to Smurfit Westrock for yet another supply of boxes this week.

So how much of your donated shoes do we have so far? After our second delivery from DPD Ireland, it would seem... rather a lot ❤️

Of course, all those shoes arrive packed in mountains of cardboard boxes. Thankfully, the fantastic team at Barna Recycling, collect and recycle every last one of them, free of charge.

It's a contribution that often goes unnoticed, but it plays a vital role in making the Our Shoes appeal possible each year. Thank you for your support.

Always an exciting day!

The first instalment of your donated shoes has arrived at our sorting warehouse here in Sligo. This is just a portion of the 25 pallets delivered this morning, with another shipment of similar size arriving soon and more to follow over the coming weeks. ❤️❤️❤️

Once again, we are blown away by your generosity. It looks like this year's campaign has been a HUGE success!

These pre-loved sports shoes will make such a difference when they reach children in South African townships, giving them the opportunity to play sport, stay active, and simply be kids.

A huge thank you also to our amazing logistics partners, DPD Ireland. We simply could not run this campaign without their continued support.
