Individuals from our Rush service had the pleasure of attending the annual Men’s Shed Walk and Talk in Newbridge House, Donabate. The group also played walking football with the Lord Mayor of Fingal, and afterwards enjoyed tea and sandwiches to complete this enjoyable day. πŸŒ³β˜•οΈβš½οΈ

Seven individuals from our North Street Service have successfully completed a 16-week Self-Advocacy Module. The course was delivered by Dublin College of Further Education and Training and facilitated by the supportive and informative tutor, Adele Halpin. Adele supported everyone in completing and submitting their portfolios, coursework, and evidence today. We are hopeful that all seven participants will receive positive news and achieve the QQI Level 3 Award in Self-Advocacy.
Regardless of the outcome, everyone thoroughly enjoyed taking part and said they learned so much throughout the programme each week.
This is a great example of personal planning and goal setting in action. πŸ™ŒπŸŒŸ

Following on from our recent feature at the SEAI Public Sector Energy Conference, where Prosper's Energy Management & Sustainability Initiative was highlighted, we are proud to showcase another example of the excellent sustainability work taking place across our organisation.
For National Food Waste Recycling Week, the Seatown Green Team took a trip to Drogheda Recycling Centre to learn about how compost is produced and the importance of food waste recycling.
A special thank you to Imelda for the informative tour and for kindly gifting compost for our garden at Seatown Road. Experiences like these help build knowledge, encourage sustainable practices, and support Prosper's ongoing commitment to climate action. β™»πŸŒ±πŸ’š

🌱 We were delighted to be featured at the SEAI Public Sector Energy Conference, where Mellany McLoone, IHA Manager for Dublin North City and West, highlighted Prosper Group's Energy Management & Sustainability (EMS) Initiative as part of her presentation on the importance of local energy teams and climate action. 🌍

Our EMS Initiative brings together service users and staff to drive sustainable practices across the organisation, helping to reduce energy consumption while promoting environmental awareness and action. We were especially pleased to see our Climate Able booklet showcased as an example of supporting people with intellectual disabilities to engage with climate action in an accessible and meaningful way.

A sincere thank you to Mellany for recognising Prosper's work and for her continued support of sustainability initiatives across the sector. ♻️

🌟 Our George's Square services attended the Garda Youth Awards Night. Staff in the George's Square service nominated the Ardgillan TY students who won a group award for their outstanding work with us. The excitement on the night was contagious! The students will now be put forward for the national garda youth award later in the year!

George's Square were also invited to attend Ardgillan's TY graduation in their school to present them with our 'Making a Difference' award. It was very difficult to choose one student to give the award to as this group was magnificent and everyone deserved the award, so we gave it to everyone who worked with us! Everyone equally deserved it.

Below is a synapsis of their achievement that we wrote for the garda youth awards night.

"The Ardgillan transition year students have collaborated with Prosper Fingal's Balbriggan day services throughout their school year, supporting service users with their daily activities.

Each student has displayed the utmost respect, commitment and interest for the people supported by Prosper Fingal. From the very first day their interaction with service users has been based on mutual respect and positivity, building long lasting relationships and helping people with disabilities to become valued members of a wider community."

Well done to the Argillan's CC TY students! πŸ™Œ

What an unforgettable day at the Lidl Farm to Fork experience for the North Street Green team! 🌱🚜
A huge thank you to Ciara who facilitated the day which created such an inspiring and enjoyable visit. The day was absolutely full of learning - we learnt where our food comes from, we saw sustainable farming in action, we made our very own butter and we even milked Daisy the cow! It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, to learn, and to build new skills to apply in North Street. I think we all came out appreciating the journey from farm to fork a little bit more! πŸ₯•πŸ„
