Shannon Toastmasters are back after a summer break for more fun meetings and a welcoming environment . Have an important presentation or wedding speech and very nervous about it join us on wednesday 02 nd september to get over ones anxiety and fear about speaking in public. We are a supportive and welcoming club and by joining the club one get s access to the toastmasters educational pathways to develop at ones own pace to improve ones speaking and communication skills .
Our meeting is on this wednesday 02 nd september 8 pm in st senans school shannon co clare . guests free .

"All good things must come to an end 'wrote the poet Chaucer and what an exceptional last meeting Shannon toastmasters club had this evening in St Senans NS . With amazing poetry recitals by our members and some toastmasters read out their own poetry . A trifle made by Siobhan, washed down with home made cordial provided by Ann it was an amazing meeting to finish off the season with. We had a fantastic speech by Monica Casey which was evaluated by James O Dowd. Toastmaster for the meeting was our former club president who gave us three poetry recitals on the night. The club is on a summer break until our next meeting in August in which we will be celebrating the clubs 30 th Anniversary.
Thanks to our two guests Tomas and Eimear who attended our club tonight.

Shannon Toastmasters Club recently held their AGM. Outgoing Club President, Declan Drummy commended the outgoing committee on their work throughout the year and acknowledged how vibrant the club is. He noted the positive atmosphere at Shannon Toastmasters Club and reflected on the successes of the year that included a mix of speech making, presentations, impromptu table topics, speech evaluations and various aspects of leadership skills, all of which are strong tenets of Toastmasters. He congratulated Patrick Hynes on winning both the Shannon Toastmasters Club and the Toastmasters Area 13 International Speech Contest. Patrick represented both Club and Area at the Toastmasters Division D International Speech Contest where he came 3rd. Shannon Toastmasters club will be celebrating their 30th anniversary this year and have been an important part of Shannon life over the last 30 years. The incoming committee of Shannon Toastmasters Club for 2026/2027 is Maura Meaney (President), Siobhan Doherty (Vice President Education), Geraldine Ryan (Vice President Membership), James O’Dowd (Vice President Public Relations), Ann O’Callaghan (Secretary), Geraldine Lambert (Treasurer) and Monica Casey (Sergeant at Arms).
