☘️Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all our staff, driver and kitchen volunteers, supporters, members of The Friday Club and all our meals on wheels family.

Yesterday we delivered sprigs of shamrock with all our meals. Kieran Calnan, who is keeping up the Rosscarbery tradition of shamrock growing, kindly provided the shamrock. Go raibh míle maith agat Kieran ☘️

The West Cork Dementia Inclusive Project is a community project, aimed at making West Cork a dementia inclusive community, initially focused on Bantry and Clonakilty.

The project is focused on community engagement, collaboration, and ensuring that local voices are heard and involved from the outset.

To realise this, a Public Meeting will take place on Tuesday 10th March from 6pm to 8.30pm in Fernhill House Hotel, Clonakilty. The evening will open at 6pm with key information stands from local and national supports, followed at 7pm by Keynote Speaker, Dr. Brian Carey, Consultant Geriatrician of Bantry General Hospital, and a panel discussion. This is an opportunity to learn more about the project, ask questions, and contribute your ideas or feedback.

Our very best wishes go to our kitchen supporter, Yvonne as she moves onto new opportunities. For the past few years Yvonne has been an essential part to our expanding meals on wheels service. Dedicated and hard working, with a keen eye for detail and a great sense of fun, Yvonne has been a joy to work with. Not sure how we're going to fill the gap you leave - thank you for your time with us and good luck in your new role, you'll fly it!

Today we wished a fond farewell to Barbara who is moving back to Dublin to be close to family. Barbara has volunteered in the kitchen (too many years to count) and is a valued member of our meals on wheels family. Nothing was a problem for Barbara and she will be greatly missed.

☃Join us at 11am on Christmas Day for some festive fun as we celebrate another year of the Rosscarbery Christmas Day Swim.

All proceeds go to 2 wonderful local charities in Rosscarbery Social Services Centre Ltd. & Cancer Connect.

🔔This will be the 36th annual swim that has grown every year since it's inception.

🎁Festive dress is essential with plenty of refreshments for everyone in attendance.

MEALS ON WHEELS CHRISTMAS DINNERS 🎄🎅

65 Traditional Turkey & Ham dinners with all the trimmings were delivered today along with Agnes’ famous Sherry Trifle and a Cadbury Selection Box .

Thanks to Sheila, Liene, Yvonne, Agnes and Fiona in the kitchen and all the volunteer drivers who delivered in Leap, Glandore, Rosscarbery, Reenascreena, Lisavaird and Castlefreke .
